When nca arrived at thepany, it was exactly 8:59 AM, and she let out a long sigh.
She was almostte!
As the chairman, Matthew didn’t need to worry about the time. But nca read in the Employee Handbook yesterday that employeeste for work would be deducted fifty dors from their pay, fifty bucks! That was enough for several meals! Thinking about this, nca sat down at her desk. As soon as she did, a girl came over and said, “Miss Gregor wants to see you.”
“Okay, thanks.”
nca sighed in her heart. Why did she always feel like a student who was called on by the teacher for being absent-minded in ss?
She took her badge and walked towards the office. As soon as she entered but before she turned around, she heard Anna Gregor’s resolute voice, “Shut the door behind you.” So nca carefully closed the door, turned around, and saw that Anna was working at the desk.
Anna seemed to be very busy. She was in a professional suit in the style of a capable and strong woman. At this moment, she was gracefully leaning on the chair and staring at the stack of documents on her desk. When she noticed nca, through those red lips of hers Anna said, “Take a seat.”
nca then sat down squarely.
She was sitting there for ten minutes, but Anna didn’t say anything else. nca felt like she was walking on thin ice.
Was it about her work?
It shouldn’t be though. She barely did anything serious yesterday – all she did was read the Employee Handbook…
Was it something personal then? This didn’t seem possible.Copyright by N?v/elDrama.Org.
nca kept her head down and stirred with her fingers as if she was going to pull them off. All sorts of crazy ideas were flooding her mind. She looked up to check on Anna every now and then. Twenty minutester, Anna suddenly put down the files in her hand. The filesnded on the desk loud.
“Miss Gregor, is there anything you would like me to do?” nca seized an opportunity to ask.
Anna let out a chuckle, then nced at her watch, “You’ve been in here for twenty-two minutes straight, nca, have you got too much free time?”
“Me? I’m not…” “I” wasn’t that busy.
nca was about to say that she was new at thepany and wasn’t assigned any tasks – she wasn’t busy at all. But Anna interrupted her before she could finish, “nca, right? You are the chairman’s wife, of which I think all of us are aware. But I won’t go easier on you because of that. You work for us, and you are under my supervision here.”
“Okay.” nca stood up quickly like a student who did wrong and was scolded by the teacher with her head down quietly.
“You’ve been here all day, anything you’d like to learn about? Ask away.”
“No, nothing.”
“… I’m having doubts about why we recruited you. Was it only for that you are the chairman’s wife?” Anna seemed mad, and that made nca even more anxious. nca frowned, but she was biting on her lips and didn’t say anything.
nca wasn’t a fool. She could tell that Anna was harsh on her, but it was different than the HR’s picking on her. Anna seemed unsatisfied with nca’s work performance.
Even though nca wasn’t sure what that was about.
“Do you not know what you did wrong?” Anna asked.
nca nodded a few times. Somehow she seemed to have overreacted, so she stood there in silence instead.
nca was typically a clever girl. Why would she back down in front of Anna? nca was feeling defeated. Perhaps in a bigpany like this, a girl like her was never able to fit in as well as those productive college grads did…
