One evening when coming home from Trivia Night at the local bar with his friends, Book and company decided to take a shortcut, because what could happen? They find out when they are abducted by aliens that look eerily like fantasy Orcs. Experimented on and implanted with strange tech, they escape and portal down to a planet inhabited by Elves and ruled by magic.This story is about what happens after that, with Book and his best friend, Tess, striving to navigate their new life as bioengineered Elves. Helping him, if he can figure out the nuances, is a network of implants that let him tap into the natural magic of Planet EH-103. This help comes in the form of a (possibly faulty) AI, complete with a HUD, floating text boxes, [Class]es, [Level]s, [hotkey]s, and lots of [bracket]s. And the AI might be evolving sapience. No troubles there, right?We follow Book as he becomes a [Scrivener], creating and selling unique magic scrolls. His college studies were finally put to practical use (//Practical magic? *Sigh*//). Imagine! We see a slice of his life, interspersed with scattered scenes of intense action and violence. After all, the Space Orcs are still out there![Ink]ling of Success: Now, a war looms on the horizon and our intrepid adventurers race to prepare for the Festival of Trials, where they compete to claim one of the coveted Guild Team positions. Why?
