Chapter 2881
“You know, you could make the same choice now,” Nn said, his voice cold as the ice in his bourbon.
“Maybe our history’s just soured the love, turned it into nothing but jealousy.”
Dahlia’s heart pounded like a drum at his words, and she felt a spark ignite within her. “Don’t you dare
pretend to know my feelings,” she snapped, her voice shaking with intensity.
“I love you, Nn. I’ve always loved you! I didn’t have a choice back then, and if I could have stayed, I
would have. Never forget that I fell for you first. You know I’ve always loved you more, and you can’t
deny that.
Life yed me like a cruel joke, Nn. Every time I had to choose, it was like losing something as
precious as you. And just when I realized my mistake, you picked another woman.
Can’t you give me another chance? Or did you marry Regina just to spite me? You barely know her,
Nn. How can youmit to a lifetime with someone you barely know?”
Tears streamed down Dahlia’s cheeks, dampening Nn’s shirt as she buried her face in his chest.
The sight twisted his heart, and he couldn’t help but call out, “Regina, is the ambnce on its way?”
Regina nodded frantically, her own heart racing. “Yes, I called them. They’re just taking a while. Dahlia,
is the bleeding under control?”
“Oh, spare me the crocodile tears, Ms. Tanner,” Dahlia hissed through her sobs. “Whether i bleed out or
not is none of your concern. You’d probably love for me to just drop dead here so you can have Nn
all to yourself.”
“Dahlia, why would you think that? We don’t have any bad blood between us,” Regina protested, her
brows furrowing.
“No bad blood? You stole the man I love. How is that not bad blood?” Dahlia shot back, her voiceced
with bitterness.
Even as Dahliay wounded, Regina felt the need to defend herself. “I never wanted to fight over him
with you. Besides, you and Nn were never together, to begin with. What’s stopping me from
marrying him? You need to figure out if what you feel for him is love or just possessiveness.”
“You!” Dahlia tried to sit up in a surge of anger, but Nn gently pushed her down.
“Are you out of your mind? You’re still bleeding!”
However, Nn’s concern only convinced Dahlia that she still had a ce in his heart, that there was
no real love between him and Regina. She settled back into his arms, feeling a sense of victory.
“My head hurts so much,” she whimpered, clinging to Nn. “Will I die if the ambnce doesn’t get
here soon?”
Bystanders murmured among themselves, “If she was really afraid of dying, why smash into a post?”
“You don’t get it,” another whispered. “That stunt wasn’t for her; it was for Nn’s benefit. If she truly
wanted to harm herself, she wouldn’t do it in front of a crowd, embarrassing Regina like that.”
“I think Regina’s met her match with this one,” someone else added. “Look at her, standing there, not
even defending herself.”
The crowd sighed collectively as the ambnce finally arrived. Before Nn climbed in with Dahlia, he
shot a knowing nce at Regina’s boss, who reassured him, “Don’t worry, Mr. Harris. Not a word of this
will leak from New Blossom Press.”This content is ? N?velDrama.Org.
Nn, cradling Dahlia, stepped into the ambnce as the medics tended to her wounds, leaving
Regina standing alone, chasing after them a few steps.
“Stop right there! Where do you think you’re going?” the boss snapped at Regina, his patience worn
thin.
“You see what you’ve caused today? Are you trying to make sure New Blossom Press hits the
headlines?” he barked, frustration clear in his voice.
