    There, standing behind a wall of hisckeys, was Domingo, his smug gaze locking onto Nn who was


    now standing protectively in front of Regina.


    Nn met Domingo’s stare with an unreadable expression, while Regina discreetly sized up the man


    who seemed shorter than she had imagined but radiated a menacing aura, like someone who had


    been through the wringer a few times too many.


    “Well, well, Mr. Harris, bringing your sweetheart to my turf for a little PDA, are we?” Domingo taunted,


    his tone dripping with condescension.


    Nn held his silence, prompting Domingo to push further.


    “Ever heard the saying, ‘public disys of affection get you a fast track to the breakup’?”


    Laughter erupted from his crew, who looked at Nn and Regina as if they were fish in a


    barrel.


    “Cat got your tongue, Mr. Harris? Or perhaps you’ve forgotten me?”


    Domingo’s hard edge contrasted sharply with his self-deprecating words, and Regina had to stifle a


    laugh.


    “I haven’t forgotten,” Nn replied coolly. “After all, you’ve set quite the trap for me.”


    “You’re still wet behind the ears, Mr. Harris. It’s not a trap; consider it a rite of passage.”


    Regina frowned at the man’s flippant behavior, thinking him too confident. “Maybe you’re


    underestimating us, Mr. Skinner.”


    After she spoke, Nn subtly shifted, cing himself entirely between her and Domingo.


    Peering around Nn, Domingo remarked with feigned admiration, “She’s a looker, that’s for sure.


    Such a shame, really.”


    “A shame for what?” Nn asked, his tone even.


    “A shame that your girl won’t see the light of day after she’s had a run-in with my crew.”


    Domingo’s ominous words sent a shiver down Regina’s spine, and she clutched Nn’s coat tighter.


    Nn reached back and took her hand. “What’s this all about, Mr. Skinner? We’ve always been on


    neutral terms, no need for these morbid jokes, right?”
