    “Nn, what brings you here?” she eximed, momentarily forgetting her injured left foot and standing


    up too quickly. “Ouch!” she winced, copsing into the chair.


    Both Balfour and Nn rushed to her side.


    “What are you doing? Have you forgotten about your injury? Are you out of your mind?” Balfour’s tone


    was harsh, but his touch was gentle as he carefully cradled her foot.


    Ivy’s face scrunched in difort. Her ankle was mostly healed, but the sudden pressure had caused


    a jolt of pain.


    Having Balfour handle her foot like that was awkward, especially with Nn present. It just didn’t look

    “It’s nothing serious, just a stab of pain from standing too quickly. It’s fine now,” she assured them.

    “What do you mean it’s fine? You can’t even remember your own injuries,” Balfour muttered, jealousy

    Ivy was indeed pleased to see Nn; since her hospital stay, they’d only met once.


    “Nn, what brings you over today?” she asked.


    Nn eyed her foot with concern. “Are you sure you’re alright? Should we have the doctors take


    another look?”.


    Balfour’s hands remained on her foot, gently pressing around the wound. The doctor had advised that


    this could help promote blood flow and speed healing, and Balfour had taken the advice to heart,


    always massaging Ivy’s leg since they’d returned home.


    The warmth from his touch eased Ivy’s difort. She had grown ustomed to his care, so the
