    Chapter 2167

“Bringing it to the set? Are you hoping I wouldn’t notice?” Giselle had a point, and the crew was once

again in a bind. Whose side should they take: Ivy’s or Giselle’s?

The bespectacled woman couldn’t afford to cross Giselle after already shing with Ivy. She clenched

her teeth, resolute in her decision not to side with Ivy.

“It’s obvious, Giselle’s no fool. Why would she keep evidence in her own bag? Some sneaky rat

must’ve yed their cards well, slipping the evidence into Giselle’s bag while she was being framed.

Then, by the time we all discover the clothing, Giselle ends up taking the fall for someone else’s dirty

    work,” she rationalized.

Giselle breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that bespectacled woman had crafted a usible excuse for

    her.

“Yeah, that’s got to be the case,” Giselle said as she turned to Balfour, her eyes brimming with sincerity

and tears shimmering. “Balfour, you’ve got to believe me. How could I ever do such a thing? You know

me, I’m the type who’d mourn over an ant crushed on the sidewalk. I could never harm anyone.”

Balfour looked impassively at the woman before him, spewing lies as if they were gospel. Disgust filled

his gaze. He had once considered her a friend and defended her.

When did Giselle be such liar?

With Balfour unmoved, Giselle’s tears flowed freely, and she turned her plea towards Ivy.

“Ivy, I’ve always seen you as a friend. In this cutthroat industry, it’s hard to find genuine people. You’re

new here, and I thought you hadn’t been tainted by the business. But now, you’re pushing me over the

edge! What have I done to deserve this? Just tell me what I’ve done to offend you, and I’ll change. But

you can’t ruin me like this!”

Giselle’s eyes were red and swollen as she stepped forward and grabbed Ivy’s hand.

“Ivy, why are you doing this to me? Please, tell them the truth, that you had someone sneak the

clothing into my bag. If you clear this up, I’ll forgive you. I know you must have your reasons.”

Her sobs made her a pitiable sight.

Someone muttered, “There’s no need for all this drama. Whoever owns the clothing, there will be

fingerprints on the metal decorations. Just get it checked at the police station, and we’ll know for sure.”

Giselle tensed up at the suggestion.

“No! No need to go to the police station. This is just a misunderstanding between us girls, nothing for

    the cops!”

    ??

After she spoke, she cast a nce at Ivy.

Ivy remained silent, making others suspect that Giselle was worried the fingerprints on the clothing

    would incriminate Ivy.

Ivy, however, let out a coldugh and shook off Giselle’s hand. “Giselle, what are you so scared of? Is it

me, or are you afraid your actions wille to light? Thanks, but no need to worry about me. I’m willing

    to go to the station.”

Suddenly, Giselle gripped Ivy’s wrist tightly, her tone bordering on threatening. “Ivy, don’t be foolish. If

this goes to the police, you’ll be the one to suffer. Do you think you can continue your acting career with

a record? I don’t want that for you! Just apologize to everyone and we can put this behind us. Ivy, don’t

    be so stubborn!”

Ivy looked at her, amused. “You really shouldn’t worry about me, Giselle. The truth is quite clear. My

outfit is at home. If anyone doubts that, they can go to my ce right now and size.” see for

themselves. The one in your bag certainly isn’t mine.
