    Chapter 2129

    Chapter 2129

Giselle’s spirits soared at the thought of never having Ivy standing between her and her leading man

    Balfour again.

Even the espresso on her lips seemed less bitter now.

As the shoot was about to start, and even Colton had hustled into the theatre, there was still no sign of

    Ivy.

Giselle casually inquired, “Where’s our lead actress? Howe she’s not here yet?”

The crew members nearby craned their necks, searching.

    N?velDrama.Org holds ? this.

Usually, Ivy would be perched on a stool with her script in hand at this time.

    Something was off today.

“No clue, but there’s been no word of her calling in sick. Maybe she’s stuck in traffic?” someone

    suggested.

Giselle quickly sipped her coffee to hide the smirk she couldn’t contain.

    “Maybe,” she mused.

It would be just perfect if that woman never showed up again. Then she, Giselle, could naturally take

over the leading role in the movie. There was no one more suited for the part than her!

But Ivy was merely dyed by a traffic jam, nothing more.

When she stepped out of her SUV, the sight that greeted her was Giselle’s barely concealed grin.

Their eyes locked, and Giselle struggled to maintain herposure.

    Why was she here again?

Hadn’t ra sent some thugs to rough her up? How could she possibly show up on set unscathed

without even a hint of distress? This was not what Giselle had envisioned!

Her heart pounded with anxiety, especially when she saw Ivy’s indifferent gaze fixed on her.

Forcing a smile, Giselle held up a sealed cup of coffee and approached Ivy.

“Ivy, here, I had someone pick up this coffee for you this morning.”

As Giselle handed it over, Ivy took it. Her guilty demeanor made it impossible for Ivy to ignore.

    “Thanks,” Ivy replied curtly.

Giselle felt the vein in her forehead twitch. Did this wretch really think she was something special?

She was the youngest award-winning actress in the industry; what was Ivy inparison, daring to act

    so haughty in her presence?

Pondering this, Giselle shifted her stance. Arms crossed over her chest, she was exuding a sense of

    superiority.

“Ivy, you’re a bitte this morning. Did something happen on the road?”

Ivy nced at her coolly, “There was a bit of a mishap, but it’s been taken care of. Why? Are you

    surprised to see me, Giselle?”

Giselle’s smile stiffened as she nervously sipped her coffee.

“What do you mean? You’re the lead actress and it’s only natural for you to be here. Why would it be

    surprising?”

Feeling guilty, she found it hard to meet Ivy’s eyes.

Ivy’s voice was icy, “That’s not necessarily true. After all, if I weren’t here, Colton would certainly bring

in another lead. Plenty of talents are coveting the production. I wonder if Giselle wishes the same?

Hoping for my disappearance from the set?”

Ivy’s piercing look seemed to see right through Giselle’s thoughts, making it impossible for her to look

    up again.

“Even if someone did think that, it wouldn’t be me! We’re friends, and it’s not like I’m short on roles to

y! Anyway, I wouldn’t covet your little patch of turf.”
