Chapter 1815
Chapter 1815
Bertha felt a bit embarrassed by Ellinor’s constant curtsey, and she waved her hands dismissively. “Oh,
Ellinor, you’re too polite! Your mom and I are best buddies. I’m just doing what any friend would do.”
Ellinor thanked her again. “And thank you for looking out for my mom all these years as well as
shielding her from the Howard family’s harassment.”
Bertha sighed and helped Ellinor up. “Alright, Ellinor. I appreciate your gratitude, but don’t stand on
ceremony, or I’ll get mad.”
Ellinor nodded and straightened up, not wanting to make Bertha ufortable.
She nced at the ck-suited men guarding the door and asked Bertha, “Bertha, I saw these men
moving my mom’s belongings. Is she being discharged? But her injuries don’t seem to have healed.”
Bertha looked a bit downcast at this. “She’s not being discharged. Marlinie insisted on moving to
another hospital. I just finished the paperwork for her transfer. If you hadn’t arrived, we’d already be on
our way to the other hospital.”
Ellinor looked puzzled. “But this hospital has the best medical facilities; why change hospitals?”
Bertha exined, “Your mother wanted to leave, but I was worried about her injuries and refused.
However, she insisted on transferring at the very least. And it’s all
because…”
Ellinor seemed to understand. “Because that Howard man is also in this hospital, right? My mom’s
afraid of being found.”

Bertha sighed and nodded. “Yes, indeed. I told your mom that as long as I’m here, the Howard family
won’t be able to get to her. But she’s so scared that she can’t sleep at night. Seeing her like this isn’t
good for her recovery, so I agreed to help her transfer.”
Ellinor understood. “Alright, that makes sense. Let’s let her rest and recover before transferring. But
she’s sleeping now, sò let’s wait until she wakes up.”
Bertha looked surprised. “She’s asleep? That’s great! She’s barely slept these past few days. I was
really worried. It seems like seeing you has rxed her a bit; that’s why she could fall asleep.”
“She must be exhausted.” Ellinor said with concern etched across her face.
Bertha nodded in agreement.

Ellinor seemed to remember something and asked, “By the way, how did my mom get hurt? I asked
her, but she didn’t answer.”
Bertha hesitated, unsure whether to answer this question.
Lea interjected quickly. “Ellinor, Ms. Marlinie was stabbed by a woman from the Mendoza family!”
The Mendoza family? Ellinor was surprised. If Lea hadn’t mentioned it, she would havepletely
forgotten about the notoriously unscrupulous Mendoza family.
But why would her mom go to the Mendozas?
“What exactly happened?” She asked Lea.
“Well…” Lea was a good storyteller, and she sinctly exined the incident to Ellinor.
After listening to the story, Ellinor’s hands clenched into fists.
Tracy and her daughter really were the worst; even if they didn’t wee her mom, they didn’t have to
resort to violence.
They must be insane! They dared to stab her mother?!
A sh of fury flickered in Ellinor’s eyes. She turned to Bertha and said, “Alright, I got it! Bertha, could
you please apany my mom to the new hospital and let me know the new room numberter? Just
call the number I gave youst time.”
“Sure.” Bertha agreed, watching as Ellinor prepared to leave. She asked worriedly, “Ellinor, where are
you going?”
