    However, Marcus, though he had not regained his memory, was already aware of what had happened.


    He didn’t show any signs of surprise. “Just put some ice on it and you’ll be fine.”


    Sophia looked disappointed. “Marcus, don’t you understand? What I need is not ice, but your empathy!


    Can’t you show more concern for me? Don’t just offer lukewarm sympathy like a stranger.”


    Marcus raised an eyebrow, clearly irritated. “What kind of attitude do you want from me? Isn’t this


    situation your own making? Maybe if you’d held your tongue, you wouldn’t have gotten pped by your


    father!”


    Sophia looked utterly upset and asked, “Marcus, do you also think that way?”


    Marcus didn’t bother sugarcoating his words anymore, “Sometimes, it seems like you just love stirring


    up trouble. Your father traveled all the way here with his wife and younger daughter to see you, and


    you put him in a difficult position. If I were your father, I’d be angry too.”

    Marcus wasn’t interested in arguing with her anymore. He turned towards Tristan, “Are you done


    eating, Tristan?”

    Veronica was on the verge of tears, “Why didn’t you bring him back with us? We could have gone


    home together.”


    Ellinor looked conflicted, “The time isn’t right.”
