After dinner, Ellinor took a stroll in the Howard family’s garden, enjoying the evening breeze and
admiring the moonlight.
Suddenly, she heard some grumbling from ahead.
“What a mess! I wonder which careless vendor scattered these leaflets everywhere.”
“Exactly! Those who aren’t interested in the leaflets just chuck them away, and the wind blows them
into our garden.”
Two servants were sweeping the ground andining. They then heard footsteps approaching.
After turning around, they saw Ellinor.
They immediately showed respect to her. “Ms. Mendoza, you might want to walk over there. We’re
sweeping, and we’re afraid the dust might bother you.”
Ellinor smiled. “Alright, you guys keep working hard.”
She didn’t pay them much mind. She smiled at the two servants and walked by.
Once Ellinor left, the two servants started chitchatting again.
“Ugh! Look at this leaflets. Why are they printing about Mr. nchet’s murder?”
“Isn’t it clear? It says Mr. nchet died suddenly, and they’re now asking for any leads. Whoever
provides useful information will get a big reward.”
“I wonder who would dare harm Mr. nchet.”
“What’s it to us anyway? Our rtionship with the nchet family isn’t great, so it’s none of our
business.”
As they talked and swept, they suddenly stopped at a pair of feet. They looked up and saw that Ellinor
was back.
Ellinor looked at them seriously. “Who did you say was killed?”
The two were startled by Ellinor’s serious face. They were just the Howard family’s gardeners, so they
had no idea about Ellinor’s past rtionship with Theo.
One of them quickly answered. “It’s Mr. nchet; he died inst night’s explosion. His body was badly
damaged, and now the nchet family is looking for clues. We read it on these leaflets.”
Ellinor looked down at the dusty leaflets,
She bent down to pick one up, but her belly got in the way.
Seeing this, one of the gardeners quickly helped her pick one up and handed it to her.
Ellinor grabbed the leaflet. One side was an ad for a barbecue restaurant, and the other side was what
the gardeners just mentioned.
Theo was killed in an explosion?
No way!
How could this be?
No way, that was Theo!
Ellinor looked shocked; her chest felt tight, and she had trouble breathing.
