    Jade’s relentless pursuit.


    Dr. Thalia also felt a bit awkward. She nced at Allison, not understanding how a woman from a


    regr family could overshadow her daughter.


    Allison seemed to sense the scrutiny. That gaze was unabashedly sizing her up. Allison also raised her
