    Allison halted. Her fingers tightened around the doorknob.


    Without turning around, she calmly said, “Anything else, Dr. Dn?” Her tone was as casual as a


    patient chatting with their doctor.


    “Nothing much. How’ve you been?” Dr. Dn’s hand holding the ballpoint pen paused for a moment,


    then tightened its grip on the pen.


    “I’m doing great,” Allison responded.


    She pulled the door open, ready to leave. Behind her, Dr. Dn blurted out, “Allison, I broke up with


    Jade.”


    Allison pursed her lips, then gave them a slow bite.


    She had a soft spot for Dr. Dn, not just because he was her mom’s doctor, but also for his


    gentleness and tolerance. What woman wouldn’t fall for a man like this? He did touch her heart, but


    she knew she didn’t love him. He was just a ray of light in her life.

    Miranda looked at Nichs approvingly, then led Elisa to the sofa. A servant brought over coffee.


    Miranda said, “Give it a try. This is Zachary’s prized Blue Mountain coffee. I don’t drink coffee, but I’ve


    heard it’s the bomb.”


    “Then I’ll definitely give it a shot,” Elisa answered with a smile. “Miranda, is Kami around?”


    Miranda understood Elisa’s intentions. She was friends with Elisa, and Nichs was a catch, so of
