Chapter 357
The Penelope in his heart was always pure and Innocent, the girl who once saved him. But Lucian
often felt that the Penelope in front of him was cunning and calcting, even suspecting from time to
time whether the child in her belly was really his.
The man squinted his eyes. Two monthster, when the child was born, he would definitely investigate
thoroughly.
Nichs returned to the private room with no appetite. As Allison finished eating, he asked the waiter
to pack up some pastries. ncing at the time, he said, ‘I’ll drop you off at Red Jack Club. What time
do you get off work tonight?”
Allison had her hair casually tied up while eating. Now she untied the hair tie, let down her hair, and
carefullybed it with her fingers. “Are you going to pick me up after work?”
Nichs replied, “I can arrange a driver for you. It’s not safe for a girl to get off work toote.”
“No need,” Allison responded, “I usually get a ride with a friend. It’s on their way. And my working hours
aren’t fixed. It depends on the guests in my private room. When they leave, that’s when I finish and go
home. But don’t worry, I’m always with friends. If it gets toote, I’ll stay overnight in the break room
and go home the next day.”
“Which private room are you in now? I didn’t see you on the 6th floor the other day.”
“The 2nd floor.”

Nichs wasn’t a regr at Red Jack Club, but he was familiar with its workings. Typically, the higher
the floor was, the more prominent the guests were. The second floor, on the other hand, was mostly
upied by individual customers, and there was a diverse range of people there. It was rtively
chaotic inparison.
Allison shrugged, “These two weeks, the 6th floor has been managed by another manager. I just earn
less, but everything else is the same.”
As Allison and Nichs descended the stairs, Allison’s phone buzzed twice. When she didn’t check it,
Nichs next to her reminded her, “Your phone’s ringing.”
Allison chuckled, “It’s a text from a nutcase. Don’t mind him.”
Nichs guessed, “Luca?”
Allison’s eyes widened, “How do you know? Was I that obvious?”
Nichs asked, “Is Luca chasing after you?”
Allison’s eyes widened even more. “What are you thinking? How could he be chasing me?”
Nichs looked at her deeply, “I feel Luca treats you differently from others.”
“You’re overthinking.” Allison lowered her eyes.
How could Lucian possibly like her? He couldn’t even hide his distaste for her.
As the car sped along the road, Nichs nced at the rearview mirror at the silent woman’s face.
“Allison, it’s strange, but feel a sense of familiarity with you. Penelope said earlier you’re a scheming
woman, but in my eyes, you’re an innocent and kind girl. It feels like we’ve met before, maybe in a past
life, I was your brother.”
Allison bit her lip. Her eyes felt moist and sour. She wasn’t sure if this man was Ricky, but all the
coincidences were too simr. She preferred to deceive herself.
“So, how about you treat me like your little sister? Let me… call you brother a few times. I understand,
I’m just a girl from an ordinary family, and you’re from a wealthy and prominent one. I’m not greedy, and
calling you brother a few times won’t cost you anything.”
Nichs paused for a moment, then a smile appeared on his face half a minuteter. “Sure, I suddenly
gained a beautiful and gentle little sister. It’s my luck.”
Hearing Nichs’ words, the pain in Allison’s heart these past few days seemed to have disappeared.
She wouldn’t leave Northfield; she would stay here. Penelope and Leah couldn’t think of driving her
away, and they couldn’t threaten her
anymore.
She was going to stay here to find out if Nichs was really her brother.
