Christopher heaved a deep sigh.
Allison was better off knowing some things. That way, he wouldn’t have to keep things bottled up,
tormenting himself. For all these years, his conscience has been gnawed at countless times.
Leah knew Christopher was soft–hearted, so she continued to speak, “Christopher, look at Allison’s
attitude. Haven’t we been kind enough to her family all these years? We paid for her mother’s medical
bills, you helped her out when she was expelled from school for truancy, and I found her a job… This
ungrateful creature, she’s not grateful at all. She is even jealous of Penelope. If anything happens to

“Leah, do you know which hospital Grace is in now?”
Leah’s face changed, she said nervously, “How would I know, you’re not nning to visit her, are you?
Christopher, be honest, do you still have feelings for
her?”
“No way, but you know, we’ve known each other for a long time. We haven’t spoken for years because
of Allison’s father’s ident; I want to clear things. up with her.” Christopher had always wanted to see
Grace and clear up the past, but he could never find her. He didn’t know where Grace was getting

In the sickroom, Penelope woke up.
She was pale and weak, leaning against Lucian’s chest, “Lucian, is our baby okay?”
“The doctor said it’s fine.”
“I was really scared” Penelope’s eyes were red, “Actually, I don’t me Allison, it’s my fault, I just
wanted to thank her for saving you in the forest. I didn’t expect her to suddenly lose her temper at me.”
Lucian frowned slightly, “You’re saying, Allison lost her temper at you willingly?”
He subconsciously felt something was off about Penelope’s words.

Lucian said, “Are you sure?”

She ced Lucian’s hand on her belly, “Lucian, feel it, the baby’s fine, I’m so relieved. If anything
happened to the baby, I don’t know what I would do.”
Lucian looked at Penelope’s expression, and his face turned cold, “Penelope, you and the baby are
fine, so you should rest.”
“Lucian, can you stay with me?”
Lucian stood up, “Penelope, you just had a scare, you need to rest. I’ll have the doctore and check
on you again.” He then walked towards the door.
As he opened the door, Leah and Christopher were standing outside. They wanted to talk to Lucian,
but he said straight up, “Mr. nagan, I’m going to rest in my room, you guys stay with Penelope.”
“Alright, I heard you just came back from Pearl Ind and had a lot to deal with. You go and rest, Leah
and I will stay with Penelope.”
He pushed the door open, Penelope looked at Leah and Christopher, “Dad, Mom.
“Penelope, you really scared us. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine”
Knowing that his daughter and the child in her belly were safe, Christopher breathed a sigh of relief,
“You have to take care of yourself, the child in your belly is extremely important, nothing can happen.”
Leah angrily said, This is all Grace’s daughter’s fault, she’s jealous of Penelope. If not for her, would
Penelope be like this? Thank God.”
Christopher shook his head, he didn’t want to argue with Leah about this, he simply said, “I’m going to
