Chapter 232
Even though everyone knew that Lucian and Allison had vanished in the woods, it didn’t mean they
had a clue why. It wasn’t until they heard Kami spill the beans that they realized Lucian had gone
missing trying to save the maid, leaving them with weird looks.
Aidan looked around and asked, “Where’s James?”
Jason replied, “He’s on the ind, looking for people with Carl,”
Aldan nodded, then gave an order to one of his guys, I’m heading to the ind, Jason. You guys hold
the fort here.”
Kami grabbed his hand and said, “No, Aidan. It’s raining cats and dogs, the waves are crazy, and the
trip to Pearl Ind is long. It’s a risky business.” But Aidan wasn’t about to change his mind just
because of Kami’s plea. He didn’t even give her a second nce, shook off her hand, and walked
off.
Kami tried to follow but was stopped by one of Aidan’s men.
“Please, go back and rest.”
With no other choice, Kami turned around and left.
Despite the rough seas, Aidan managed tond on Pearl Ind.
Carl, wearing a raincoat, said, “Mr. Crane, what brings you here?”
Inside the control room, Aidan looked at the satellite map on theputer and asked, “Have they been
found yet?”
There’s no signal in the deep woods.n’s team is already there. They’re sending signals, moving
towards the center”
Carl said, “We should find them by dawn.”
Aidan replied. “I need 100% certainty. They must be found.”
Carl gritted his teeth and said, “Yes, sir!”
Aidan looked out into the rainy night, gripping his cane tightly. He watched a blue re explode in the
night sky. Carl immediately pinpointed the location, That’s a re fromn. They’re on trail 06, deep in
the woods.”

The rain had eased up, and Allison’s clothes were halfway dry. She put them back on.
She rechecked Lucian’s hand. The area around his wound was red and purplish. The snake’s venom
was potent, and although she had treated the wound promptly, Lucian was still running a high fever.
The herbs could only make him slightly morefortable.
She was the reason the snake bit Lucian.
“I heard from Penelope that your mother is sick.”
The man’s voice came out of nowhere.
“What else did Penelope tell you?” Allison smirked a hint of sarcasm in her voice. “Did she also
mention that she and Leah paid my mother’s medical bills?”
She looked up towards the cave entrance and whispered, “Kidney failure. Needs money to survive.”
“Did you sell yourself for that?”
Allison clenched her fists, “Mr. Lindberg, will you ask me who I sold myself to next? Would you believe
me if I said it was you?”
Her words were dripping with sarcasm, which Lucian naturally didn’t buy. He had been living abroad
and only returned to Northfield four months ago. After being drugged, he spent a night with Penelope.
His first night with Allison was due to her drugging him during the Willowbrook College anniversary. By
that time, Allison was no longer a virgin.
He said nothing more.
Allison whispered, “Mr. Lindberg, who took my virginity, which I sold myself to, whose child I’m carrying,
do they matter to you?”
“None of my business.”
“If it has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lindberg, why do you care what I do?”
The man clenched his fist. Yeah, why did he care? What did this woman’s promiscuous private life
have to do with him?
“Or is it, Mr. Lindberg, that you like me?”
