Chapter 367
Nikki seemed to sense the ill-intent of the stranger, burying her face into Izabe''s bosom.
Izabe''s heart ached. She hated when people said Nikki was sick, let alone that she wouldn''t live
long.
She pulled out a tissue from her bag and wiped away her tears.

"We''ll always be together."
With a hoarse meow, Nikki seemed to respond to her words. Sensing Izabe''s difort, Nikki
stretched out her tongue to carefully lick her hand.
The cat''s tongue was covered in tiny barbs, making it a bit ticklish on the skin. Izabe raised her
hand to pet Nikki''s head.
Feeling carsick was no fun, but she had to endure it. She had been enduring it for years, so she
was used to it and didn''t find it too hard to bear.
After an hour''s drive, the driver pulled over.
Izabe got out of the car with her bag and Nikki in her arms. Instead of heading straight for her
apartment, she took Nikki to the vet.
Once a clingy kitty, Nikki was now terrified of strangers, always trying to burrow into Izabe''s arms.
Not wanting to force Nikki, Izabe cooed andforted her until she finally raised her head. Nikki
looked around, scared and anxious.
The vet conducted a full-body examination on Nikki, and the results were not good. Over the years,
Brett had often called in pet doctors to help maintain Nikki''s health.
But a cat''s lifespan could never oust a human''s. Nikki was already four years old, and the injuries
from the fire had cut her life expectancy in half. She was now an elderly person.
Her organs were degenerating. Just like humans, cats could also die of heartbreak.
The vet prescribed many nutritional supplements and told Izabe what to watch out for. Izabe
also bought afortable cat bed and some cat toys, all things Nikki used to enjoy ying with.
Izabe didn''t want to hear about how long Nikki could live; she only hoped that she could be with
Nikki and make her happy while she was alive.
She bought a ton of stuff, costing her twenty grand. The staff helped her deliver it to her small
apartment.
Izabe put Nikki on the sofa. Seeing that it was already noon, she decided to prepare Nikki''s meal
first before making her own.
After eating, Izabe started tidying up the room and putting away the purchased items.
She put Nikki in the cat bed, "try it out and see if it''sfortable."
Nikki padded around the bed before finally settling down, her eyes half-closed. Izabe scratched
her chin, which caused her to purr contentedly.
While Izabe was cleaning up, her phone rang. It was a strange number. Izabe hesitated for a
moment before answering, "Hello?"
"Izabe, the production team has discussed it, and we hope you can continue with ''Here Comes
the Superstars.''"
It was Mr. Kane''s voice.
Izabe declined: "I''m sorry, Mr. Kane, I''ve decided to leave the show."
"Why?" Mr. Kane sounded anxious. "Is it because of Ariana and Harper? Don''t worry; Harper has
already left the show. And we''re working on terminating Ariana''s contract. She won''t be on the show
anymore."
"It''s not because of them."
"Then what is it?" Mr. Kane was silent for a moment, then seemed to have an epiphany. "Are you
ming us for not standing up for you right away?"
"Mr. Kane, I''m leaving because I''ve proved my acting skills. And I only signed a contract for one
season. Mr. Kane, I appreciate the opportunity you gave me, and I apologize for any trouble I''ve
caused."
But to say that she didn''t feel anything would be a lie.
Mr. Kane gave a bitterugh. He didn''t know how he had gathered the courage to call Izabe and
ask her to continue with the show.
He could still remember the sight of Izabe standing alone on the stage. For three whole days, no
one hade forward to say a word in her defense.
He had witnessed Izabe''s acting skills firsthand, yet he chose to turn a blind eye as she was
verbally abused online for three days.
How could he have the nerve to ask Izabe to continue filming the show?
"Izabe, I''m sorry."
"Mr. Kane, don''t say that. I have my reasons for not continuing with the show. I''m starting a new
drama soon, and Mr. York is working on the script. I need to stay home and study it. If I take on your
show as well, I might mix up my roles."
"I understand. Will we have a chance to work together in the future?"
Mr. Kane specialized in variety shows. Izabe thought for a moment, unsure if they would have the
chance to coborate again.
She hadn''t even nned to act forever, let alone have spare time to do variety shows.
However, Izabe didn''t reject Mr. Kane outright: "If there''s a chance, we can definitely work
together."
