    Chapter 266

"Fiona, could you help me carry this? My hands hurt, and I have no strength left." Asked Izabe.

The two of them stood at the door, pushing back and forth, until Fiona finally heard Izabe cry out

in pain and reluctantly took the fruit from her.

Fiona invited Izabe in and poured her a ss of lemon honey water, cing it on the tea table.

She asked, "How have you been these past two days? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Just a bit nauseous and no appetite, otherwise, I''m fine." Answered Izabe.

Fiona said, "That''s normal, but if you''re really ufortable, go see a doctor. I had no appetite

when I was pregnant with my son either. My husband would always cook up all kinds of food for me

and take me out to rx. That helped a lot. Oh, when I didn''t have an appetite, I liked sour things,

like lemon slices. See if you like it and give it a try."

Hearing Fiona''s words, Izabe felt both touched and envious that she had such a caring husband

who showered her and their child with love and concern.

Izabe took a sip of the lemon water - it tasted pleasantly sour and sweet. "It''s good," she nodded.

Fiona insisted, "As long as you like it, that''s what matters. I enjoyed drinking this when I was

pregnant too, but don''t drink too much - it''s high in sugar. I''ll give you a bottle to take home, and you

can dilute it with water for an afternoon tea."

Izabe didn''t decline Fiona''s kindness and agreed.

Fiona was very hospitable and went to wash more fruit, like peaches, grapes, and cherries, putting

arge te in front of Izabe. Seeing her somewhat pale face, Fiona encouraged her to eat more.

She had many questions towards Izabe, like why she came to this unfamiliar ce all alone while

pregnant and what happened to her fingernail-less hands. But curious as she was, Fiona never

asked too much out of respect for Izabe''s privacy.

Everyone had curiosity, and although Fiona was puzzled, she had never asked too much. Firstly,

she had a distant rtionship with Izabe, and secondly, it was her private matter, so out of

respect, she should not inquire further.

However, thinking about Izabe was being alone, she wanted to take good care of her and hoped

that she could quickly integrate into this ce.

Fiona asked, "Is there something you wanted to ask me about?"

"Do you know any ce around here where I can sell jewelry?" Said Izabe.

"Not in this town, but you should find some ces in the city. If you want a better price, though,

you''ll have to head there." Said Fiona.

Izabe dared not go to the city. Brett was searching for her, and the city would have a wider search

range - who knew if he was waiting for her there?

"The city is too far. I was thinking more of the nearby county town, or maybe you know someone

who wants to buy jewelry." Said Izabe.

Fiona thought for a moment and hesitated before asking, "If you don''t mind, could you show me the

    jewelry?"

Izabe took out a beautiful jewelry box from her bag. Fiona knew the jewelry inside must be

valuable just from the box alone. As Izabe opened it, Fiona''s eyes widened in amazement - she

had never seen such a gorgeous ne before. The gemstones and goldplemented each

    other perfectly.

"This is so beautiful!" Fiona eximed, resisting the urge to touch it. "How much are you thinking of

    selling it for?"

Izabe shook her head and said, "Of course, the higher the price, the better. This ne cost 3

million dors when I bought it, but I''d be happy with a 1 million now."

"3 million dors?!" Fiona gasped, her astonishment only growing. That amount of money could buy

an entire block in their town! She couldn''t help but thought about distancing herself from Izabe,

afraid she might identally knock over the jewelry box.

"I''m afraid the county town won''t give you the price you want, considering..."

Izabe knew that, so she kept lowering her expectations - even fifty grand would be fine.

In reality, finding a ck-market dealer would be best. They''d have various channels to sell the

piece eventually, and by then, not only would it fetch 3 million dors, but even 5 million wouldn''t be

    out of the question.

Brett''s customized limited-edition gifts only increased in value over time, making them quite

    collectible.

    "I understand." Said Izabe.

Seeing Izabe''s disappointed expression, Fiona patted her shoulder reassuringly. "Don''t lose

hope. I''ll help you ask around online."

"Will that be too much trouble for you?" Asked Izabe.

"Not at all, I''ll just take a photo and ask around." Said Fiona.

Izabe was also considering going to the county town to inquire about the price. Fiona knew many

people, but there were definitely no acquaintances within her capability who would be willing to buy

her jewelry. So Izabe didn''t have much hope either.

Fiona carefully took a few photos with her phone. No filter needed, the jewelry looked stunning.

Fiona thought to herself, "If I have the money, I would buy this in a heartbeat."

"Be careful with this ne. Don''t show it to anyone else." Said Fiona.

"I know." Said Izabe. One must always be on guard.

Fiona could see Izabe truly understood, so she didn''t press the matter further.

"I''ve always been curious about you, Izabe - your background and why you have such valuable

    items." Said Fiona.

Izabe seemed to struggle with finding the words to exin, "Fiona, something happened to my

family, but don''t worry, I didn''t do anything illegal. Everything I have belongs to me."

Fiona never doubted Izabe''s integrity, as they had gotten to know each other quite well over the

past two months. So, she just imagined a damsel in distress story.

"Don''t think too much about it. I wasn''t doubting you; I just wanted to let you know that you can

always turn to me if you need to. You came to this ce all alone while pregnant and without any

rtives, so why not think of me as your sister?" Asked Fiona.

"Fiona, aren''t you already my sister?" Izabe gave her a faint smile.

"That''s true! I''m happy to have such a beautiful sister like you." Said Fiona.

Seeing that it was gettingte, Izabe decided to go to the town to buy some groceries.

Fiona saw her off at the door, then took her phone out to go through the photos she had taken. She

edited a message, “PM me if you''re interested in buying”, attached the photos, and sent them to a

    group chat.

The jewelry looked stunning even in photos, and people were immediately interested.

"Is that a real gemstone? How much?"

"You must''ve added a filter, right?"

"Looks expensive. Ordinary girls don''t deserve to have this."

Despite manyments, very few private messages came in. Over an entire day, only one or two

    people asked about the price.

Upon hearing the original price of 3 million dors, everyone backed off.

Izabe returned home with groceries, made oxtail stew, and a vegetable soup.

After lunch, she tidied up her bag, stashed the ne in apartment, and decided to head to

the county tomorrow to see how much it was worth.
