Chapter 219
The purpose of Kaley''s call to Brett was simple, to ask him why he left R City without telling her.
Originally, Izabe was supposed to be in aa for a long time, but she surprisingly woke up soon
and lost her memory. Izabe''s amnesia was not good news for Kaley.
Could amnesia just meant that nothing ever happened?
Kaley bribed a nurse in the hospital, nning to take action at some point, but Brett was always
guarding the ward. The person she bribed was told that the patient inside had already been
discharged before even entering the room.
Kaley felt frustrated. She couldn''t understand why the result she got after paying such a big price
was just a minor impact on Izabe.
Thinking of that man''s methods, Kaley couldn''t help but shudder.
A big part of the reason that the "kidnapper" insisted on Izabe was because of what Kaley had
said.
That guy was Brett''s enemy. If Brett liked something, he would try to take it; if he couldn''t have it, he
would just destroy it.
To protect herself when she was kidnapped, Kaley drew a clear line between her and Brett, and told
the kidnapper that Izabe was Brett''s true love, and kidnapping her could force out a lot of
information.
However, kidnapping Izabe became a problem, and in the end, Kaley had to sacrifice herself.
It was a gamble; Kaley knew that Brett would definitely save her because he "owed" her a life. She
couldn''t match them in psychological tactics, so all she could do was to be ruthless to herself.
In the end, she won the bet. Brett really exchanged Izabe for her.
She sacrificed her own leg, thinking that even if Izabe didn''t die, she would be seriously injured.
But the result was that Izabe didn''t die and her face remained unscathed. She was fine after
sleeping for a few months.
Kaley knew that man''s methods, but now things were deviating from her expected trajectory and
developing in apletely unknown direction. This made Kaley fall into fear, afraid that the man
would sense something ande looking for her again.
Now the only one she could seek refuge with was Brett, but he suddenly left R City.
As soon as Kaley learned from Liam that Brett had left R City, she hurriedly called him overnight.
The waiting tone sounded for more than ten seconds. Kaley thought to herself that if no one
answered, she would call again; if it was busy, she would wait another ten minutes before calling
back.
Just when the waiting tone was about to end, the phone was connected, and Brett''s clear and
elegant voice came out, "What do you want?"
"Are you noting back to R City?" Kaley asked directly.
"Not for now." Brett was as sinct as ever, answering only what he was asked and not saying a
word more.
How long was "not for now"? Just like Brett said "soon" he would marry her, but there was never
any news again.
"Brett, you said you wouldn''t leave me behind. If you''re in J City, I want to go too." Said Kaley.
"No." Replied Brett coldly.
She knew Brett would refuse her, but she didn''t expect him to be so decisive. Well, there wasn''t
much love between them in the first ce, he knew her disguise, and she knew he didn''t care about
her.
"I heard Izabe lost her memory. Are you worried that she''ll remember something if she sees me?"
Asked Kaley.
Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g!
"How do you know she has amnesia?" The man''s voice suddenly became gloomy, and even
through the phone, she could feel the intimidating power.
Kaley gritted her teeth, with her jaw twitching, "not only do I know she has amnesia, but I also know
she has stomach cancer."
Izabe''s amnesia and stomach cancer were not secrets. Although Brett forced the hospital to seal
the news, she could use the same means to find out something if she wanted to.
"If you dare say anything more, don''t me me for not giving you face." Said Brett.
"Brett, I know you don''t want Izabe to remember anything. I promise I won''t talk about the past in
front of her; I just want to be by your side, even if I''m just looking at you from afar."
Her voice was hoarse and choked. If it weren''t for Brett knowing what kind of methods she had used
before, he might have been moved.
He sneered, with a cold voice, "Are you threatening me?"
Kaley felt like she had a thorn in her back, "It''s not that I''m threatening you, but you need me.
Izabe''s stomach cancer is unstable, and she will definitely have surgeryter. Can you guarantee
she won''t bleed during the surgery?"
Kaley understood Brett; he was cautious and careful, preventing problems before they happened.
"Brett, having a mobile blood bank is very convenient, isn''t it?" Kaley said leisurely, "you know this
very well."
No one knew better than him how convenient a mobile blood bank like Izabe had been. As long
as Kaley was injured and bleeding, he would forcibly take Izabe to the hospital to draw blood.
Thinking of the past, his heart felt like it was being gnawed by ants. Brett didn''t dare to refuse
Kaley''s condition because he was really afraid of Izabe having an ident one day.
"Fine, I agree to let youe to J City. But if you say anything to Izabe that makes her remember
something, I won''t let you off easily."
He spoke concisely and gave her no respect.
Kaley knew his character and suppressed the breath, "I know."
As soon as she spoke, the call disconnected.
Kaley put down the phone, her lips curling coldly. The more Brett cared about Izabe, the more it
benefited her.
What she wanted to seek now was just Brett''s protection. If she didn''t even have that, she would
have to turn against them.
Kaley booked a ne ticket early and would head to J City tomorrow afternoon. She didn''t know
what Izabe would be like after losing her memory. ording to the nurse she had bribed, Izabe
was slow and dull now, which simply meant she was a bit foolish.
Kaley raised her hand and touched her face, thinking about the verbal humiliation Izabe had
given her in the past and the p she had received. Her eyes suddenly narrowed.
She had to bring down Izabe!
