Chapter 152
"Ms. Salotti, are you alright?"
At this moment, Izabe''s vision was already blurred, and she was feeling weak all over. It took her
quite a while to raise her eyes and look at the empty wine bottle on the table.
She had been drugged.
She had been on guard when she entered the room, knowing that she was a defenseless woman
no matter how tough she appeared. She could be killed easily by anyone who wanted to hurt her.
But she hadn''t expected that they would be shameless enough to drug her.
The wine bottle had been brought to her by the waiter when she entered. She had been watching
her surroundings, and it was impossible for anyone to have drugged her under her watchful eye. It
could only mean that the waiter had drugged the drink before bringing it in, and she had been
deceived. She had fallen into their trap from the moment she stepped into the room.
There was movement behind her, and Izabe, feeling weak and helpless, turned around with the
support of the coffee table.
Lucas, who had been lying on the ground just a moment ago, was now standing, having been
untied by someone. He had his head down, ncing around the room but avoiding Izabe''s gaze.
"You can go now."
Lucas bent his waist awkwardly, "Boss, I''ll leave my sister to you guys. About the money I owe..."
"It''s been cleared." Heckter waved to his henchman.
The man took a check out of his pocket. "Here''s the ten million our boss promised you."
"Thank you, thank you." Lucas stiffly epted the check.
"Alright, get lost." The man spoke to Lucas with disdain, thinking how useless he was to deceive his
own sister in such a situation.
Lucas walked away, feeling remorseful. But thinking back to the kick Izabe gave him, he gritted
his teeth and quickened his pace.
She no longer treated him as a brother, so why should he care about her life or death?
"Lucas!" Izabe used up all her strength, her spirit had begun topse, seeing everything in double
vision. She shook her head and bit the tip of her tongue, and spoke with a shudder, "Brother, are
you really going to leave me here all alone?"
Lucas''s stopped, and he clenched his fist resting on his thigh.
He hadn''t heard Izabe call him "brother" in a long time, and her voice was so vulnerable and
shaky.

He remembered when Izabe was learning to talk, the first word she ever said was "brother."
Lucas held his abdomen and lowered his head, his ears starting to ring, as if there were two little
people fighting inside his head.
"Get out!" Heckter''s henchman yelled impatiently behind him.
Lucas automatically blocked out the noise. He didn''t want to care about her. He hated Izabe. She
was the one who caused the death of his mother and then his father. She was a disaster!
Suppressing the panic rising in his heart, Lucas made his escape.
Izabe''s vision became more and more blurry, and her face was icy cold.
She had been betrayed by her closest loved one.
She had risked her life to save him and spent all the money she had, only to be met with
disappointment and betrayal.
Izabeughed coldly, her face ugly and twisted. She covered her cramped abdomen as her body
became more and more weak.
She knew she could not escape tonight.
Supporting herself on the coffee table with her elbows, Izabe tried to stand up, but she failed
again and again.
"Stop struggling."
"Aren''t you afraid of offending Brett?"
"Brett is indeed capable, bing R City''s richest man in just a few years. But, everyone has their
weakness."
"You know, I don''t like forcing people. It''s your choice."
When did she ever agree to this? Izabe stared at the IOU she had signed on the table, something
shing through her hazy mind. She reached for it but was too slow.
The henchman handed the IOU to Heckter, who nced at it and read the line in neat handwriting.
"I’ll voluntarily spend the night with someone in order to repay Lucas''s debt. It''s written clearly on
this IOU."
They had swapped the agreement while she was drinking. As expected, they had been waiting for
her from the start, and Lucas was just bait to lure her in.
Izabe didn''t want to give in. She had to stall for time, hoping someone woulde to rescue her.
"You''re very generous, letting Lucas clear his debts and even giving him ten million."
"Lucas isn''t worth that much, but you are. To be honest, I''ve wanted to taste the vor of R City''s
most beautiful woman for a while now."
Izabe had relied on endurance throughout her life. Leaning against the couch, she closed half her
eyes and said weakly, "You actually didn''t need to drug me. I''d already thought of that before I came
here, and I knew I wouldn''t be able to leave tonight. Like you''ve said, I prefer volunteering to being
forced as well."
Izabe was like a rose with thorns. If one wasn''t careful, they would end up getting hurt all over.
