Chapter 133
"Lucas, look at your sister, can''t I even tell the truth?"
"Izabe, mind your own business! What gives you the right to criticize others?" Lucas snapped
back, "What she said is true. If you hadn''t bbed about me to Grandpa before he died, the Salotti
Group would be mine, and we wouldn''t be bankrupt now!"
Izabe seemed not to hear this remark, and continued to mock the woman with a faint smile on her
face - a smile that somehow conveyed a chilling arrogance.
Seeing her attitude, Lucas gritted his teeth in anger. "Cut the act, Izabe, I''m your brother, show
some respect!"
Izabe scoffed, "So, you finally remember that you''re my brother."

"Lucas, I''ve got to wonder if messing around with women has made you lose your mind. You keep
saying that it was me that stole your position, but why don''t you ask yourself, are you even capable
of living up to what you have? Grandpa gave you a chance, but you didn''t cherish it. Instead, you
squandered the money on women and gambling, and lost everything. He tried to teach you how to
run a business, but did you ever listen?!"
"For six years, I managed the Salotti Group. I held up thepany in real estate, jewelry,
construction materials... I did everything! And it wasn''t Grandpa who appointed me as the president,
it was the shareholders who voted for me. If you don''t believe me, call them up and ask how many
votes I got, and how many you got!"
At seventeen, Izabe was unanimously elected the highest decision-maker of the Salotti Group,
while Lucas garnered no votes, being regarded as worthless mud.
If it wasn''t for her efforts in the Salotti Group, Lucas wouldn''t have a penny to his name.
She worked hard to make money, only to feed an ungrateful brat!
When Izabe first took the reins, she feared that people would look down on her, so she enforced
her decisions firmly and without mercy. And she didn''t care about connections or rtionships---
either follow her or prove your worth.
Many people thought her methods were too sharp, not diplomatic enough.
Veterans of the business world advised her to be more tactful, lest she antagonize people and
jeopardize her business.
But Izabe did not listen. She was like a sharp sword, and she managed to carve out her own path
in the world.
The year Old Mr. Salotti died, the Salotti Group faced a crisis. Everyone thought the Salotti family
was finished, but Izabe, then a college sophomore, took a leave of absence to take the helm,
rescuing the Salotti Group from the brink.
During those two months, she worked overtime every night, adopting Da Vinci''s sleep method. Four
hours of work, 15 minutes of sleep, repeating this cycle and only sleeping a few hours a week.
Negotiations, meetings, proposals,working---Izabe did it all on her own, step by step, raising
the Salotti Group''s shares by 25 percent.
Of all this, Lucas didn''t care. He either didn''t remember or paid no heed, but Brett remembered it
well.
Even though Brett was disgruntled back then, he had to admire Izabe. She was not only beautiful
but also highly capable, making any ordinary man feel inferior in front of her.
Lucas was feeling a little guilty, his piercing gaze now evasive. Of course he remembered about the
vote for the election, at which Izabe was unanimously approved.
But that didn''t matter to him now. Defiantly, he said, "So what? That only proves that they''re all blind
to elect you! The Salotti family still went bankrupt, didn''t they?!"
"Do I need to remind you how the Salotti family went bankrupt?" Izabe''s voice was icy cold with
displeasure, her authority making people turn their heads.
"I was gone for only four days, and Dad signed a problematic contract! Why?"
Lucas'' face changed slightly as he heard this.
Izabe''s eyes darkened, "Don''t think I don''t know what happened. Back when you went to the
underground casino and owed arge amount of money, someone introduced you to an investment
project. You couldn''t get money from me , so you urged Dad to sign that contract."
