Chapter 75
Izabe''s stomach was throbbing with pain, like something was moving inside. She rushed to the
bathroom and was totally shocked when she saw the blood on her pants.
Her period had arrived.
She put on a pad and filled a hot water bottle, but it could do nothing to alleviate the pain. She
swallowed two strong painkillers, and finally the agonizing pain was suppressed.
Curled up in bed, she feltpletely drained and couldn''t even concentrate.
Trista went upstairs to check on her, "Ms. Salotti, are you okay? Do you need me to call a doctor?"
Izabe clutched the nket and rasped, "No, it''s just that time of the month. I''ll be fine in a couple
of days."
Trista nodded and left the room, closing the door gently.

Before long, there were footsteps again, the door opened, and Izabe thought it was Trista without
even looking.
It wasn''t until a shadow loomed over her that she realized something was amiss. She looked up and
saw Brett''s face.
"How did you get in here?"
"You look awful," Brett said, looking at Izabe''s sickly pale face. "Are you still in pain?"
"Yes."
Brett took out his phone to call a doctor.
"What are you doing?"
"Calling a doctor." He knew Izabe didn''t like hospitals, so he had hired a family doctor half a
month ago.
But she refused, "I don''t want to see a doctor." She had stomach cancer and was afraid the doctor
would find out.
"If you don''t want to see a doctor now, you might not get a chance when you need one."
"It''s my body, and I know it well. I don''t need you to interfere." Izabe was irritable, like a bomb
exploding at the slightest provocation.
Her emotions were already uncontroble during her period, and Brett''s buzzing was like a fly in her
ear.
"You think I want to interfere with you?" Brett sneered.
Izabe couldn''t help but sneer back, "Since you don''t want to get involved, get out. I''m sick of you."
"Izabe, tone down your stubbornness and don''t push me." His temper red as well.
Izabe clutched the hot water bottle and found afortable position to close her eyes, trying to
ignore him.
Seeing her in such a pathetic state, Brett couldn''t bring himself to disturb her further. But he couldn''t
help but poke his nose further, "You should go out less. You only went out for a few days, and now
you''re sick."
Izabe put down the hot water bottle and covered her ears. It was Brett''s fault she got sick in the
first ce. Wasn''t it because of his sneaky tricks that she had to run around in the sun, trying to find
work, and ended up getting sick? And now he had the nerve to lecture her?
Brett just wanted to force her to submit, to be a quiet, obedient housewife who only cooked
and satisfied him in bed.
In the end, Brett found out from Trista that Izabe had her period.
"Does it hurt this bad during periods?"
"It depends on the individual," Trista exined. "Some people don''t feel any pain during their
periods, while others have pain for a day or two. I think Ms. Salotti''s pain is due to excessive cold in
her body. Some medication should help."
"What should she do now if she doesn''t want to see a doctor?"
"I''ll make her some ginger tea. It should help."
"Send it upstairs when it''s ready, and get her some medication from the pharmacy tomorrow."
Trista nodded.
Brett went upstairs, and soon Trista brought the ginger tea.
"Give it to me." Brett took the tea and brought it to the bedside. "Sit up and drink this ginger tea."
Izabe opened her bleary eyes, propped herself up using Brett''s arm, and looked at the ginger tea.
She turned her face away, "I won''t drink it."
"It''ll help with the pain."
"I took painkillers. I''m not in pain anymore." She didn''t want to drink the strong-smelling ginger tea,
fearing that it would make her vomit. Besides, she had stomach cancer and couldn''t eat ginger.
"Painkillers won''t help."
"Whether they help or not is not for you to decide. I''m not in pain, and that''s good enough." Izabe
gritted her teeth, refusing to drink.
Brett''s eyebrows knitted, and his face started showing impatience. He held Izabe, forced her jaw
open, and shoved the ginger tea down her throat.
Brett wasn''t experienced in looking after people, and the ginger tea was scalding hot. Izabe was
in tears from the pain, and her struggle seemed like defiance to Brett, so he became rougher and
more aggressive.
