Naturally, Sandy didn''t want Ste to face Luca alone outside.
"Sandy, be good. Your sister knows what to do," Brandon, for once, asserted himself and carried Sandy
directly into the bedroom.
"Brandon!" Sandy looked a bit annoyed at him.
Brandon ced her on the bed and leaned over to look at her, saying softly, "You shouldn''t get involved
in this matter, Sandy. I know you care about your sister, but it''s best to let her handle it herself. Your
involvement won''t help."
Sandy stared at Brandon and said in a serious tone, "You have no idea how that jerk treated my sister!"
Brandon gently touched Sandy''s face with his hand and said softly, "I know. He''s nothing but scum.
Your sister knows what she''s doing. Now that you''re pregnant, it''s best for you not to get involved, and
with me here, I won''t let him bully your sister. Okay?"
Meeting Brandon''s gaze, Sandy hesitated for a moment and then nodded, "Then you go outside and
keep an eye on him, don''t let him bully my sister."
"Sandy, when your sister let us in, it''s clear she doesn''t want us to get involved in their affairs. If I go out
now, it will make things awkward for her," Brandon exined softly.
Hearing Brandon''s words, Sandy hesitated and felt that he had a point. She didn''t say anything further.
When Meggie arrived and saw Luca, her heart skipped a beat.
There was even a hint of fear in her heart.
Meggie knew the kind of person Ste was. Even when Luca was involved with Alia back then, Ste
never raised a hand against him.
So for Ste to take such drastic action, Meggie''s first reaction was that Luca must have done
something unforgivable to provoke such a response.
Thus, Meggie stared at Luca with a cold look and quickly walked toward Ste, who was standing at
the door. "Ste, are you okay?"
Ste looked at Meggieing over, nced at Luca''s face, and whispered, "His injuries..."
"It''s fine. He won''t die." Before Ste could finish, Meggie interrupted, looking at her concernedly. "Are
you okay? What did he do?"
As Ste was about to speak, the elevator door opened again.
Seeing the police stepping out, Ste''s eyebrows furrowed slightly.
When Meggie saw the police, her expression changedpletely. She nced at Ste, then at Luca.
Finally, Meggie walked up to Luca and asked in a low voice, "What did you do?"
Luca met Meggie''s gaze, hesitated for a few seconds, and said, "I forced Stest night."
The words caused Meggie to lose her temper, and she pped Luca across the face. "Are you crazy?"
At this time, the newly arrived police officer looked at Luca and Meggie before asking, "Who is Sandy?"
Hearing Sandy''s name, Ste took a step forward. "She''s my sister, and she made the call to the
police."
"Then you must be Luca?" The police officer turned to Luca.

"We received a report from Sandy saying you trespassed and assaulted Miss Ste. Is that true?" The
police officer asked.

Luca took a step forward, wanting to say something to Ste, but in the end, he didn''t speak and
followed the police into the elevator.
Meggie didn''t follow, nor did she exin or say much.
After Luca was taken away by the police, Ste looked at Meggie and apologized, "Meggie, I''m sorry."
Meggie turned to look at Ste, about to say something, but when she saw the marks on Ste''s neck,
the words at the tip of her tongue couldn''t be uttered.

fault for not guiding him well."
Their parents had passed away, and Meggie had taken care of Luca since then. Luca''s actions now

Ste listened to Meggie and chuckled softly, hugging Meggie back. "I know. You stay here with
Brandon and grab something to eat. I''m a bit tired, so I''ll rest for a while."

her, "Sis..."
Ste stopped and turned to look at Sandy, asking softly, "What''s wrong?"
Sandy walked a few steps closer to Ste and reached out to embrace her. She whispered softly in her
ear, "Sis, I''ll always be by your side, always and always."
Hearing Sandy''s words, Ste smiled lightly, hugged Sandy back, and said, "I know. You and Brandon
can find something to eat casually. I''m a bit tired, so I''ll go to sleep for a while."
Sandy released Ste and said, "Sure, you rest for a while. Let me know if you need anything. I''ll be
home all day."
Ste nodded, turned, and went back to the bedroom.
After Ste returned to the room, Sandy''s smile faded.
Brandon stepped forward and took Sandy''s hand, saying softly, "Give her some time to calm down."
Sandy sat down on the sofa with Brandon and asked quietly, "Brandon, do you think I did the right thing
just now?"
Brandon looked at Sandy and asked, "What do you mean? Calling the police or something else?"
Sandy replied, "Calling the police."
In fact, Sandy could tell that although Ste never mentioned Luca all these years, she must have deep
feelings towards him. Last night''s incident was too much, and even though Ste hated him, she didn''t
n to pursue anything. If Sandy hadn''t called the police, this matter might have been left unresolved.
