Chapter 767: No More Marriage, Never Again
Chapter 767: No More Marriage, Never Again
Early the next morning, Ivan woke up with a splitting headache. As he sat up, he feltpletely devoid
of energy.
The events ofst night were fragmented in his memory, nothingprehensive. He sat on the bed for
a while, easing himself, before finally throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.
"You woke up so early. I have reason to suspect you were faking being drunkst night," a cold voice
sounded as Ivan stepped out.
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Ivan turned around and looked, "You brought me backst night?"
Zane nced at him, "Who else?"
Ivan remembered clearly that Zane was the one who brought him backst night, even though his
memory of the events was hazy. But Zane''s words about using him to clean the floor, Ivan remembered
that.
"I thought it was Yanis who brought me back," Ivan said casually. Zane nced at him indifferently, "If
you''re still not sober, I don''t mind if you go back to sleep ande out when you''re awake."
After saying that, Zane walked towards the dining room.
Ivan watched Zane''s retreating figure and chuckled softly, "Well, maybe I really didn''t wake up."
Just as he was speaking, Auntie came over, "Mr. Baxter, you''re awake."
Ivan nodded upon hearing Auntie''s voice.
"Mr. Baxter, here are your toiletries. You can freshen up, and breakfast will be ready shortly." Auntie
handed him the toiletries.
Ivan took them with a thanks and returned to his room to freshen up quickly.
When he came out, Auntie had already prepared breakfast.
Ivan didn''t waste time with pleasantries and sat directly across from Zane, saying, "Thanks forst
night."
"I heard you ran away from home?" Zane lifted his gaze and looked at him.
Ivan raised an eyebrow at his words, "You''re quite well-informed. I haven''t even left home yet, and you
already know?"
Zane nced at him, "Then you can go back after eating."
Ivan didn''t respond to Zane''sment and simply picked up the bowl in front of him and started eating
his porridge.
Zane didn''t say much either.
"Mr. Lawrence, everything is ready." Auntie brought out arge thermos and ced it on the table.
Zane acknowledged, "Leave it there."
Ivan nced at the thermos, "Going to the hospital?"
Zane nodded, "Yanis stayed at the hospitalst night."
Ivan finished his porridge in a few mouthfuls, "I''ll go with you."
Saying that, Ivan stood up, "Let me change my clothes first, right away."
"Your clothes got dirtyst night, and Auntie hasn''t had a chance to wash them. Are you sure you want
to change back into them?" Zane''s words made Ivan pause and turn to face him, "Well... can I borrow
your clothes for now? I''ll return themter."
"Just wear them and go," Zane interrupted.
When they arrived at the hospital, Ivan immediately spotted Madison and M stepping out of another
car.
Instinctively, Ivan''s steps faltered as he frowned and looked over.
Madison, with a hint of anger, walked towards the entrance while M tried to persuade her. However,
Madison pushed M aside and entered the hospital lobby directly.
"Zane!" Ivan called out upon seeing the situation. "Hurry to the ward."
Not noticing Madison and the others, Zane turned to Ivan, puzzled. "What?"
"My mom went up. Probably to find Yanis," Ivan straightforwardly exined, not beating around the
bush anymore.
After hearing Ivan''s words, Zane nced at him, then turned and quickly strode into the hospital.
Meanwhile, Ivan entered the hospital lobby from another entrance.
Madison should only know that Yanis is in the hospital but doesn''t know the specific floor or room. So
when Ivan entered the lobby, he immediately spotted Madison standing at the information desk,
interrogating the medical staff with a frantic demeanor.
In Ivan''s memory, even though Madison was assertive, she had always been a poised and well-
mannered person. However, seeing her current behavior, Ivan felt like he was looking at a stranger,
devoid of any familiarity.
"Aunt, please calm down. If Ivan finds out you came to look for Miss Thompson, he will definitely be
upset. Besides, wherever Ivan is, he won''t tell Miss Thompson," M intervened, trying to reason with
Madison, but she clearly wasn''t listening.
"M, are you speaking up for Yanis?" Madison red at M. "Aunt, Miss Thompson and Ivan are just
friends. They won''t have any romantic involvement. Don''t you know what kind of person Ivan is? Do
you think he would ruin someone else''s rtionship?"
"Ivan definitely wouldn''t, but what about Yanis? As long as she''s around Ivan, he won''t be able to focus
on marrying you," M countered.
"You''re right, but even without Yanis, I don''t n to get married!" Ivan stepped forward, taking over the
conversation.

Upon hearing Ivan''s words, M looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Ivan..."
Ignoring M, Ivan looked at Madison and said, "Since you think I won''t be able to focus on marriage,
then I won''t. I won''t marry M or anyone else from now on. Are you satisfied?"
Madison stared at Ivan in disbelief. "What did you say?"
"I said I won''t get married. Not to M or anyone else," Ivan repeated his previous words verbatim.
Madison''s hand shot up, delivering a p to Ivan''s face. His face turned to the side from the impact,
but he didn''t back down. "If you still want to create a scene here, then go ahead. But if you cause
trouble for Yanis again, then this will be how we live our lives."
Leaving those words behind, Ivan didn''t wait for Madison''s response. He turned around and left.
"Ivan!" M called out as she watched Ivan''s retreating figure, but he didn''t stop and continued walking
out.
M looked at Madison, sighed, and then followed after Ivan.
Yanis and Zane came down and witnessed the scene unfold before them.
Yanis furrowed her brows slightly. She didn''t expect Madison to be so obstinate.
She was genuinely curious. Just how much influence did she have on Madison to make her so guarded
against her?
Watching Ivan leave, Yanis walked towards Madison.
"Yanis," Zane reached out and grabbed her wrist, looking at her with concern.
