Chapter 690 Looks Familiar
On the day Yanis, Darin, and Ivan were headed to M Country, it started pouring rain in Manches City.
The traffic was at a standstill.
"This weather is so unpredictable," Darin nced out the window before turning to Yanis in the
backseat. "Did you bring everything?"
Yanis nodded. "I have all the documents you mentioned."
"Oh, by the way," Darin added. "Vivian has a friend who wants you to customize some jewelry for her.
We should schedule a meeting."
At Vivian''s name, Yanis looked up at Darin. He had meant to tell him about this earlier when Vivian first
mentioned it but forgot due to other distractions.
This morning Vivian texted him reminding him of their conversation.
After hearing what Darin said, Yanis nodded in agreement. "Sure."
Darin exined further: "She told me about it two days ago but I got caught up with work and forgot
until she messaged me early this morning."
"You''re always holed up in your hotel room," Ivan spoke up at just the right moment.
"What makes you think I''m not busy?" Darin shot back defensively. "Mypany needs my attention
too!"
Ivan chuckled lightly before teasingly saying: "I thought maybe you gave up yourpany for Yanis''
sake."
"That''s not true." Adjusting his posture slightly, Darin continued: "Of course I need to manage my

"In my eyes, you are," replied an unwaveringly confident-sounding Darin.
"What time is our flight? Can we make it?" Ivan asked while ncing at his watch.
"We still have over an hour left before boarding time," assured Darin as he suggested taking another
route through a different intersection since they would be stuck here all day otherwise due to today''s
heavy rain causing more cars than usual on this road.
"The road ahead should be better; there are fewer cars there usually." added Yanis optimistically
"We''ll make it on time then!" eximed an upbeat-sounding Ivan
Meanwhile...
Albi handed Zane their ne tickets and asked: "Mr Lawrence... Mrs Lawrence might still be stuck in
traffic... shouldn''t we wait for them?"
"No need," Zane replied while taking his luggage from Albi''s hands." You can go back now; thank you
for your hard work these past few days."Albi shook his head. "It''s all my fault."
Zane grunted and turned to enter the waiting room.
Zane arrived in M Country more than two hours before Yanis and the others.
The hotel had been arranged with Darin, and their rooms were next to Yanis''s room.
As for Ivan, his room was not on the same floor as Zane and Yanis''s.
When Yanis and the others arrived in M Country, it was already after two in the afternoon.
"I''ll take you back to the hotel first so you can rest. We''ll have dinner together tonight, and there
happens to be a friend joining us," said Darin.
Ivan looked at Darin when he spoke. "Is it appropriate for your friend to join us?"
Darin smiled. "We''re all acquaintances; what''s inappropriate about that? You know him too."
"Who is it?"
"You''ll find out when we meet tonight. Mypany is having a small gathering then."
After speaking, Darin checked his watch. "I''ll send you guys back to your hotel now."
Darin''s assistant had already arrived at the airport after they got off their flight.
"Take them to Kate Rose Hotel," said Darin.
"Okay," replied his assistant.
Darin dropped them off at the hotel entrance. "Shall I have my assistante pick you up tonight?"
Ivan nodded. "Sure."
"See youter then."
"See youter."
After Darin left, Ivan and Yanis entered their respective rooms at the hotel.
"Why aren''t our rooms on the same floor?" asked Ivan as he received his room key from reception with
a slight frown.
"We don''t have any more rooms avable on Miss Thompson''s level since they''ve all been reserved,"
replied receptionist while ncing over Ivan''s key card "Would you like me to switch your room or keep
it this way?"
Yanis looked over at Ivan''s key card before saying: "Let''s just keep it this way since our corresponding
rooms are only one floor apart."
"Alright then," agreed Ivan reluctantly as he nodded his head "That''ll do."
In truth, Ivan wasn''t entirelyfortable leaving Yanis alone by himself.
They parted ways in an elevator; Yanis went straight up while Zane was two doors down from him once
they reached their designated floors.
Yanis took a shower upon arriving back into his own room before sending Zane a message letting him
know that everything was alright so far.
He then began organizing tomorrow''s necessary documents which he sent electronically over email
along with printing out another copy of those documents through front desk services afterwards.
Once everything was sorted out for tomorrow morning, Yanis decided that it would be best if he rested
early instead of staying upte doing nothing worthwhile anymore . Zane''s message came back to
Yanis just as shey down on the bed: [Take a rest first.]
Yanis replied with an "okay" and put her phone aside to sleep for a while.
Last night, Zane had kept her up half the night by using the excuse that she would be gone for two or
three days and they wouldn''t be able to see each other. So now Yanis was feeling a bit tired.
She fell asleep almost immediately after lying down on the bed.
When she woke up again, Ivan hade in and woken her up by having someone from reception
open the door for him.
Yanis opened her eyes and looked at Ivan standing beside her bed in shock. "How did you get in
here?"
Ivan looked at her helplessly. "Your phone was off, and even when I rang your doorbell there was no
response. So I asked reception to open it."
Yanis rubbed her forehead with one hand. "Sorry, I must have been sleeping too soundly."
"What did you dost night? You''re so tired," Ivan said casually.
Yanis couldn''t help but cough lightly before saying, "I didn''t sleep wellst night."
With that said, Yanis got out of bed. "Wait for me here while I change my clothes and tidy up."
"Okay," Ivan replied obediently.
After Yanis changed into fresh clothes, they went downstairs together where Darin was waiting in his
car outside of the hotel entrance watching them approach before looking over at Zane.
"Mr Lawrence can really keep his cool huh?" Darin quipped.
Zane deflected with a question of his own: "What is Ivan doing here in M Country?"
Darin answered him without hesitation: "Jewelry business; he chatted with someone who he thinks
could be a good partner so he came over personally to take a look around."
Zane watched as Ivan got into their car along with Yanis before turning back towards Darin: "Will he
also stay here for two or three days?"
Darin started driving away as soon as everyone was settled inside; "No need; He''ll go back early
morning day after tomorrow since there''s still something going on over at Manches City."
Zane nodded once but didn''t say anything else.
To give Zane an excuse tonight''spany party had been arranged hastily inviting several good
partners whose rtionships were not bad either.
"That person looks familiar," whispered Ivan softly when they got out of their car seeing someone
talking on their phone nearby.
