    Chapter 647 Deliberately Raising Prices

    Chapter 647 Deliberately Raising Prices

Yanis didn''t have anything to do today, so after finishing his meal, he fell asleep again in no time.

Zane didn''t go to the office today and had Albi bring over some files to handle at home.

"Mr. Lawrence, someone deliberately raised the price for the West City project by a lot. It''s almost

    double what we estimated before."

After delivering the files, Albi brought up the situation in West City with Zane.

Upon hearing this news from Albi, Zane paused while flipping through the documents and then turned

to face him at his desk. "Do you know who it is?"

Albi shook his head. "I couldn''t find any clues myself and have already sent people out to investigate."

At this point, Albi hesitated briefly before looking at Zane and saying: "Mr. Lawrence, whoever suddenly

raises prices like this must have some background power behind them; otherwise nobody in Manches

City would dare raise prices so drastically during such a sensitive time."

Zane leaned back on his chair for a few seconds before lifting his gaze towards Albi. "Looking across

all of Manches City right now - who do you think is most likely responsible for raising these prices?"

Albi has been working alongside Zane for many years now as one of his trusted assistants and

confidants but they are also friends outside of work.

When asked by Zane about who might be responsible for raising these prices during such an important

moment like this one - he thought about it carefully but couldn''te up with anyone specific: "I can''t

    think of anyone."

Zane didn''t press him further on that matter; instead he spoke softly: "Have someone look into it more

    closely first."

Albi nodded obediently: "Okay then should I go back to work?"

"Mm-hmm," replied Zane as he watched Alibi leave but then suddenly remembered something else just

as he was walking away from him towards the door: "Oh wait! Bring everything back from Miss

    Thompson''s studio too."

"Mrs. Lawrence wants toe back?" asked an incredulous-looking Alibi

Zanes mood seemed very happy regarding that matter though- responding with a low hummed

affirmation – "We''ll send people over thereter on."

Alibi nodded repeatedly saying ''okay'' multiple times before adding tteringly -"Congrattions Mr.

    Lawrence!"

Zanes eyes flickered towards him briefly before telling him dismissively- "Alright get going."

With that said , Alibi bowed slightly before turning around and leaving . Zane was busy in his study until

noon, and only got up to go to the upstairs bedroom for lunch. Yanis was still asleep, with only half of

    the nket covering her.

Zane approached and pulled up the cup, covering Yanis again. He looked at her sleeping peacefully

and didn''t want to disturb her. He just leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.

Last night he had been a bit too much, not holding back enough, so he knew that Yanis must be tired.

After helping Yanis cover herself up properly, Zane turned around and left the bedroom.

There wasn''t much food avable in the kitchen refrigerator, so Zane changed his clothes before going

out to buy some ingredients for lunch. When it was ready, Zane went upstairs to wake Yanis up.

Yanis had slept well this time around; when she woke up after being called by Zane she felt more

    refreshed than before.

"Are you hungry?" Zane bent down to help Yanis put on her shoes. "I''ll bring you lunch."

"No need," said Yanis as she shook her head. "I''ll go downstairs."

Yanis got out of bed after lifting off the nket quickly and then darted into the bathroom without

looking back at Zane who stood beside it waiting patiently for an answer from her about whether or not

    he made their meal himself.

"Did you make this?" asked Yanis while peeking out from behind a partially closed door leading into

their washroom area where they both cleaned themselves every day before breakfast or dinner

depending on what they were doing that day together as a couple living under one roof now instead of

separately like before when they first met each other years ago online through social media tforms

picking up her food, staring at Zane for a few seconds before speaking seriously. "Food is not to be

    talked about."

Zane chuckled and nodded. "Got it."

After that, Zane behaved himself and didn''t say anything that would make Yanis misunderstand.

He simply silently helped her with her food from time to time.

Yanis finished an entire bowl of rice and then drank a small bowl of soup. She was so full she didn''t

want to move from her chair.

"Stay here for a bit, I''ll clean up and help you digest your food before we go help you move your things

Yanis leaned back in her chair like a salted fish. "No rush."

She really didn''t feel like moving now that she was full; all she wanted to do was sleep.

"I''m in a hurry though, so let me clean up first then we can go."

Yanis looked at him when he spoke.

Zane also looked back at her and said softly, "I''m afraid you''ll change your mind."

The words Yanis had on the tip of her tongue were swallowed down again as she replied instead:

    "Then you clean up first."

Zane acknowledged this with an affirmative sound before quickly cleaning off the table and going into

    the kitchen to wash dishes.

Yanis sat there watching his busy figure for quite some time. This kind of scene used to be something

Yanis wouldn''t even dare dream about but now it seemed like it should have been expected all along.

After staring at Zane''s back for quite some time, Yanis finally called out his name: "Zane?"

Hearing Yanis'' voice, Zane immediately turned around towards her direction. "Hmm?"

"Let Albi find someone who cane over in two days - someone who doesn''t live here," said Yanis

    suddenly.

After hearing what Yanis had said Myles paused mid-stirring motion momentarily before saying without

changing expression: "You guys came over just for dinner?"

Zane gave him an indifferent nce before replying coolly: "We already ate thanks."

Myles responded with an ''oh'', then went right back into cooking mode while Bonnie greeted Wendy

briefly outside before entering the kitchen herself asking Myles where Bonnie was located within their

    establishment?
