The college entrance examination was now getting closer and closer. The teachers and the students
were almost at the end of the road. It was raining that day. Linda was giving a psychological lecture to
the students in the ssroom. Then, she started hearing noises outside the window during ss. It
seemed that something had happened.
Most of the students started looking out of the window to see what was going on.
Linda pointed to the student who was sitting in the first row and said, "Edward, could you go check
what is happening?"
Edward nodded his head and ran outside to see if there was anything wrong. After about ten seconds,
he returned and reported, "Ms. Xia, it seems that a girl student is about to jump off a building. She is
sitting at the edge of the roof. Many students are watching her from the ground."
''Another jumper?'' Linda shook her head. She had been a teacher here for less than a year, but there
had been two jumpers since she got here.
The first time Linda met John was when he was also about to jump down. Luckily, John had listened to
what Linda had said and calmed himself. Now that Linda had gotten him off a false usation, he was
getting better and better. Linda couldn''t imagine what would have happened if she hadn''t been there for
John. He might have jumped off the building, doing what the crowd had told him to. A kid would have
lost his life.
"I''ll go find out what is happening. You all stay here and do some reading, " Linda told the students in
the ssroom.
Before she walked out of the ssroom, she turned around and emphasized, "Everyone, just keep
quiet and read your books. Don''t make any noise. I''ll be back soon." After Linda finished speaking, she
walked up to Edward and told him to maintain discipline in the ssroom. Then, she left in a hurry.
Leaning against the balustrade of the hallway, Linda looked at the building''s roof. She recognized the
girl sitting there.
She was a student in ss 4, senior level. She looked thin and weak, and she had straight hair with
bangs. Her name was Emily Wang.
Linda had only spoken with her a few times. She didn''t talk much, and she always stayed quiet.
Linda was staring at her at the moment. Emily Wang''s legs were hanging from the side of the building.
The scene reminded Linda when John wanted to jump off the building. Emily was doing exactly the
same as John did. Why did she want to end her life?
Linda knew that her top priority now was to save the girl. Life was precious. No matter what had
happened, no one should give up on themselves easily.
Anna seemed to have noticed the noise from outside, so she walked out of Linda''s office and rushed to
the ssroom where Linda was giving a lesson. Many people were standing in the hallway on each
floor. They were popping out their heads to see what was happening on the roof. The teachers were
trying to keep the students in the ssrooms. They wanted to stop the students from seeing this.
"Anna, you''re just in time! Could you call the police now? As well as the fire department? I''m afraid that
she might jump off the building, " Linda told Anna when she saw her.
If the girl died, she would feel nothing after, but her family and friends would have to bear the sorrow
and pain of losing her. There were always ways to solve problems. She just needed to believe that
things would turn out all right in the end.
One''s life was full of opportunities.
Linda remembered that the girl was coy and not talkative. She used to sit quietly. She wouldn''t dare
even look at Linda during ss unless Linda asked her to answer questions. Even if Linda tried to talk
to her, Emily wouldn''t speak much.

"Call them to the roof right now and ask them to save the girl any way they can."
"Yes, My Lady." Anna nodded and left.
Linda was watching the girl''s every move. Just then, she heard some remarks from the crowd
gathering on the ground.
"Are you really going to jump? Why the dy?"
"Don''t you want tomit suicide? Why are you still not doing it? We have sses. Hurry up!"
Linda became frustrated when she heard those words. How could they say cruel things to her? They
were her schoolmates. Emily must have had her own problems that she could not deal with on her
own, or she wouldn''t have wanted to end her life like this. She might be very disappointed with her life
and thought that death was the only solution to her problems. She was seriously thinking about
Linda believed that those who were shouting were students, not teachers. The teachers wouldn''t say
stupid things like those. Even if they didn''t care about the girl''s life, they wouldn''t say it out loud.
Linda decided to scold the students herself, so she ran downstairs to talk to them. "How could you guys
say something like that?" said Linda seriously.
The students stopped speaking when they saw Linda. They recognized her at once. Linda was one of
the teachers whom the students would listen to.
Linda wasn''t teaching them major courses, and she didn''t push them to get better grades, so the
students liked her. Besides, she was really pretty. Looking at her appearance during ss was
enjoyable enough for the most of them.
"I heard that Emily had been assigned to a foster family, and her foster family is very poor..." one of the
students muttered.
"Even if what you are saying is true, it shouldn''t be a big deal. She shouldn''t end her life like this.
And all of you, you should never say anything like that to anyone ever again. Do you understand? What
if she listens to you and jumps? This is a life we are talking about, and she is your schoolmate. How
could you tell her to kill herself?" Linda was trying to let the students realize that what they had said
was totally wrong.
In less than ten minutes, the whole school had known that a girl was sitting on the roof and that she
might jump down at any minute. The headteacher of the girl''s ss, Jerome, had showed up outside
the building. He shouted to the girl, "Emily, don''t do anything stupid. Get down, and talk to us. We can
help you."
Emily Wang''s tears fell down instantly when she heard Jerome calling out on her. She started
murmuring "Mr. Liu", but she was still sitting on the edge of the roof.
"Emily, listen to me. Get down right away. The college entrance examination is just around the corner.
Don''t you want to seize the chance to change your life? That''s an opportunity you should cherish. You
don''t want to jump down. Trust me. Just get down here!"
Ron and the other bodyguards had climbed up to the roof while Jerome was talking to Emily Wang.
Right after they got the order from Linda, they took action. They were all professionally trained, so
climbing to the roof was a piece of cake to them.
