Chapter 234 Plenty of Office Gossip


    Lisa was barely even listening to what Mary Zhang was saying. Her mind was preupied. She only


    recognized Mary from the picture in the file Adam had sent.


    Mary Zhang thought Linda had overheard her conversation with her colleague. That made her nervous


    and agitated.


    Mary thought Linda was going to fire her for this. She did not say anything malicious, but she couldn''t


    shake the feeling of guilt either.


    Lisa was not interested in talking to Mary right away. She had to follow her n to meet Charles in his


    office.


    Having lived with Charles for some time, Lisa felt more intensely that Charles deeply cared for her in a


    way that was tender and thoughtful. Lisa realized that he was a perfect gentleman, just like the man of

    It was a dreame true for Lisa when she married Charles. He was an ideal man for any woman!


    Charles was not just sessful, he also knew how to make his woman feel special. Lisa thoroughly

    "Lady Linda, please make yourselffortable. The Young Master is busy in a meeting. He will be with


    you as soon as he is done." Paul helped Linda settle down in Charles'' office. After he made sure she


    wasfortable, he handed her a ss of water.


    She thanked Paul and told him that she wasfortable. "You''re free to go about your duties while I


    rest and wait for Charles." Lisa smiled at Paul and Bun.


    "Yes, My Lady! Bun can you stay here with Lady Linda?" Having said that, Paul left the room. He


    returned quickly. "My Lady I''ve just heard that the Young Master''s meeting will only be over in an hour.

    Now that Lisa knew Charles was not joining her for the next hour, she had to think of some way to


    distract Bun to speak with Mary secretly.


    "Bun, I don''t think I had enough for lunch earlier. Will you be kind enough to get me something to


    munch on?" Lisa said. "Could you bring me a ss of fresh water as well?"


    "Yes! My Lady." Replied Bun. "My Lady, what would you like to have? There are a variety of good


    options avable around thepany." She said.


    Lisa thought for a moment and said, "Anything is fine, Bun. Just remember to pick something


    delicious." Lisa smiled.


    Lisa was not hungry. She just wanted to distract Bun. Sending her out seemed like the best option so


    she could execute her n.


    Bun took note of what Linda said and headed out. It was a good thing that Lady Linda wanted to eat.


    Bun was aware that Linda enjoyed a good meal and hence, did not find anything strange with the


    request.


    After Bun left, Lisa quickly got to her feet and started examining Charles'' office.


    She had never been here before.


    She was at Charles'' office for a reason. She knew what Adam Huo was after. How could she forget?


    Lisa had not figured out how to source the drugs for herself. Every time she needed some, Adam would


    give it to her in small quantities.


    Adam was always in control of everything, including her.


    Lisa thought about getting drugs on her own, but had no idea whom or what channel to approach.


    There was no way she could ask Bun to help. What if Charles found out?


    Lisa had second thoughts. She watched as Bun left the office and headed for the elevator. As soon as


    Bun was out of sight, Lisa went to the office door and peeked at Mary Zhang. She seemed busy on her


    Lisa waved to Mary Zhang.


    Mary was nervous. She felt like her heart had skipped a beat. What did the Young Lady want from her?


    Although she was gossiping earlier, she didn''t really say anything bad.


    "Yes? Mrs. Mu! Do you need anything?"


    While Lisa was looking around Charles'' office, she noticed that it was a closed and private room.


    Nobody from outside should be able to hear anything. She told Mary to sit down next to her and asked,


    "Guess, why I called you?"

    amongst ourselves. Did you hear us? We have a lot of girls in our department, so..."


    Lisaughed, she knew they were talking about her.

    "Then what do you need from me, Mrs. Mu? The director is still in a meeting. He will be done in an


    hour."


    "Hmm! Can you tell me what kind of meeting?" Lisa looked out of the window. The sky was clear. She


    wished her path would be equally clear. In her present state, she was uncertain as to where her life


    was headed.


    Mary was relieved when she knew that Lisa was not going to confront her about the gossip.


    Mary then spoke, "Mrs. Mu, today''s meeting is particrly crucial. It is about the decisions regarding


    the world-renowned fashion brand, Tie''s new winter products, that falls under the Mu n fashion


    umbre."


    As she was answering Linda Xia''s question, Mary couldn''t help but feel proud.


    Lisa understood why Mary felt proud when she spoke. The designer, Fred Han, was Mary''s husband


    and he had been selected as a finalist for the new winter products.


    "You''re Mary Zhang, right? My husband''s conference secretary?"


    "Yes ma''am."


    "If I''m not wrong, then the three new winter products in the meeting you just talked about were


    designed by your husband, yes? His name is Fred Han, right?"


    Mary was surprised. Lady Mu already knew.


    "Mrs. Mu, how did you know?"


    "This is not the only thing I know. I also know a man who goes by the name, Julian Zhang."

    winter products, right? Since your husband is the designer, then he''s also the star of the meeting. Have


    you seen the draft designs?"


    Mary was confused by Linda''s words. She didn''t understand why Linda would ask her that. She was


    the Lady of the Mu n corporation, and if she wanted to know about the new winter products, why


    didn''t she just ask the director? Why would Linda be asking her?
