Why is Aiden with you? Where are you now?” Amelia eximed in shock.
“I was just showing Aiden something. I’ll send him back in a bit,” Warren replied.
Amelia was silent for a while and finally just said, “Then send Aiden back soon!”
After finishing the call, Warren nced at his son, who looked a little annoyed and regretful. Obviously,
he felt that he shouldn’t havee here without permission, which made Amelia worried.
“I’m going back!” Aiden said.
“Okay,” Warren replied, showing no intention to stop him.

Amelia was already ncing about at the door by the time the car pulled up in front of her concession
stand again. As soon as she saw the caring, she immediately rushed forward and opened the
door.
Worried that something bad had happened to Aiden, Amelia looked at him carefully after he got out of
the car.
“He didn’t do anything to you, did he?” Amelia asked.
Aiden shook his head.
Amelia looked at Warren and said, “Mr. York, I hope you will let me know the next time you’re taking my
son somewhere.”
Warren smiled faintly as he replied, “Okay. I’ll call you in advance next time.”
Amelia felt speechless as she thought to herself, “Doesn’t he mean that there would be another time?”
Even so, she couldn’t say anything in retaliation. After all, Warren was Aiden’s father. ording to the
law, he still had the right of visitation even if the custody belonged to her.
Amelia held her son’s hand and said, “All right, Aiden. Let’s go back. Grandma has cooked dinner and
is waiting for you.”
Aiden followed her obediently and was about to enter the concession stand when Warren suddenly
said, “Aiden, if you like what I showed you today and want to be stronger, then next time Ie

“I don’t want him to be my daddy! I have no daddy, only mommy!” Aiden eximed seriously. After all,
the bad memory of his childhood was too much for him.
“Now, now… Don’t say that. Weren’t you willing to go out with him today?” Amelia said.
“That’s because he…” Aiden paused when he finished his words.
“Because of what?” Amelia asked.
Beckham bit his lips and said, “Because he told me to go with him if I want to be stronger.”
That was when Amelia thought of what Warren said before he left. “Be stronger? What did he
show you?”
Speaking of this, Aiden’s eyes lit up. “I just saw two people doing somebat drills. It’s totally
different from boxing.”
Unlike boxing, which had a lot of stances, it was more like a real fighting system. It helped one avoid
the opponent’s attacks and retaliate with a great counter.
As for boxing, it seemed to be less practical inparison.
“Do you really like the stuff you saw today? Do you not like boxing anymore?” Amelia asked.
“Because that will allow me to protect you better, Mommy!” Aiden said in a childish voice.
Amelia felt a slight ache in her heart when she heard that. Her son’s wisdom was the result of the
hardships of life.
“I know that you always want to protect me, but you are still a child, so
don’t need to carry such a heavy burden. Now, I will protect you so that you can grow up well. When
you are old enough in the future, you can protect me in return, okay?”
She thought to herself, “It’ll be another ten years or more until my son grows up, though. Can I really
protect him for so long? Can I withstand all the ups and downs of life out there? What about other
people’s strange, discriminatory looks, and various kinds of ridicule?”
Amelia felt as though her heart was being pressed by something heavy, which made.it difficult for her to
breathe.
The next day, Warren came to Amelia’s concession stand. “You don’t me Aiden for leaving with me
yesterday, did you?”

Amelia said.
She only hoped that her son could live a better life, and she didn’t care who it was with.
The look in Warren’s eyes turned gloomy. “Aiden is the one who matters most to you, huh?”
“That’s right!” she replied with absolute certainty.
“So can you marry me to give Aiden a better life?” Those words just slipped right out of his mouth.
He didn’t even know what kind of answer he should expect from her.
“If she doesn’t want to, would it mean that her hatred toward me is more than her love for Aiden? But
even if she wants to marry me, her son is all she will care about. What exactly am I looking forward to?”

“There’s no way I’ll marry you,” Amelia said.
Warren’s eyes suddenly narrowed. “You don’t want to?”
“Yes, that’s right! I don’t! If we really get married, then our marriage will be like stagnant water. I don’t
think such a family can bring much positive energy to the child.”
“Remember what I said to you at the police station that day? Do you still want Aiden to be bullied and
discriminated against by others? Besides, a family with both parents is also better for the growth of
children.”
Amelia hesitated for a moment before saying, “Aiden has a long way to go in his future. If life is rough,
then it’s an obstacle that he must face. I believe that he can survive this, and I will try my best to protect
him as well.”
Speaking of this, Amelia looked at Warren coldly. “If you think that a family with both parents is good for
Aiden’s growth, then I could just marry someone else. There’s no need for me to form a family with
you.”
