then got off the car and opened the door for Shen Shixiu. “Sir, are you eating at the hotel?”
“You head up first. Order some food for her.”
Jiang Zhan nodded and gave Shen Shixiu the car keys. “Sir, where are you going? It’s gettingte.”
Shen Shixiu did not reply to his driver. He got onto the driver’s seat and drove off. Jiang Zhan was
stumped. A few secondster, he turned around and walked in the direction of the hotel’s entrance.
Shen Shixiu drove to the Emerald Garden and pulled up somewhere nearby. He rolled down the
window and had his eyes fixated on it.
Not long after, another car drove past his car and also stopped near the Emerald Garden. A woman got
off the car. From so far away, Shen Shixiu couldn’t see the face of the woman. Yet, he could tell who

Shen Shixiu furrowed his brows and had one arm hanging on the window. He tapped on the rim of the
window rhythmically. The woman opened the gates and strode into the house. She had two assistants
with her. Shen Shixiu smiled and dialed a number on his phone. “Help me check how long is Shu Qing
nning to stay in the country.”
Shen Shixiu hung up the call. He spent a few more minutes sitting outside of the Emerald Garden
before leaving.

After Shen Qianan left with despondence, Shi Nuan froze in her ce. There was a hint of despair in
her eyes.
Fu Chengyan held Shi Nuan by her arm and took her to the sofa. “When did you wake up?”
Shi Nuan tilted her head to one side. After a while, she replied, “I think a little while after Shen Qianan
arrived.”
“Then did you hear everything?” Fu Chengyan pinched Shi Nuan’s little finger. His mind seemed to be

Shi Nuan nodded. “I almost heard everything you guys said.” Shi Nuan contemted for a while before
she continued, “So… you were actually using Shen Qianan back then?”
Even though Shi Nuan was not fond of Shen Qianan, she had mixed feelings about her when she saw
the dejected look on her face just now.

“She’s innocent?” Fu Chengyan shook his head and stroked Shi Nuan’s soft hair. “Innocence is always

Shi Nuan murmured in agreement and said nothing more. She was no saint, but she was still
compassionate enough to feel bad for Shen Qianan for what she went through.

head drooping just now.”
“No, I didn’t!” Shi Nuan retorted weakly. “Shhhhh! It’s all because of you!” She sped her hand over
Fu Chengyan’s mouth. “If I weren’t pregnant with these two babies, I wouldn’t even be this slothful.”
“Oh, so you do know you arezy!” Fu Chengyan was full of smiles.
Shi Nuan rolled her eyes kittenishly and pushed Fu Chengyan away. “You are annoying!”
Fu Chengyan writhed his lips and nted a kiss on Shi Nuan’s hand. “Shen Shixiu came to see you
when you were asleep.”
“Mr. Shen? Why was he looking for me?” Shi Nuan was flummoxed. The next instant, her eyes gaped
in realization. “Oh right! He told me on WeChat that his flight will be departing tomorrow in the
afternoon.”
“I know that.” Fu Chengyan nodded. “Will you agree to meet him if he wants to see you?”
