Chapter 687 A Bad Premonition
The look on Damian’s face caught them utterly off guard with his question. Only then
did Callum have the chance to scrutinize his son. He stared at Damian’s fair, soft
cheeks and the boy’s stoic temperament and soon noticed the resemnce between
them. So, Callum had no doubt that Damian was his son. “Of course, I’m your father.”

with anger. “Stop bothering us if you can’t provide any proof.” Then, he said to

asked, “What’s wrong? Are you still thinking about what happened earlier?”

passed away and you were good friends with them, but what’s up with this guy who
came out of nowhere?”
Judging from the way Callum and Slevin interacted with each other, Elspeth was sure
that they were not friends. Plus, there was no doubt that Slevin had lied to her.

she remembered that he was the one who had taken good care of her all these years
and had never mistreated her in any way.
Slevin appeared a little apologetic. “I’m really sorry that I lied to you in the past, but
the situation was precarious at that time. If I had told you the truth, it would have
affected you and the baby in your womb. After a checkup by the doctor at that time, he
said that you should remain emotionally stable lest it affects your baby and cause a
miscarriage. He even said that you might not be able to conceive if you suffer a
miscarriage given your physical condition back then.”
Elspeth stared into his eyes, and she listened to his every word as he uttered them
seriously without any intention of lying to her. Suddenly, she felt that she was being
rather rude toward him earlier. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know that you had your reasons.”
If Slevin had hidden the truth from her because of her well-being, then it was
understandable, and she shouldn’t simply me him from the moral high ground.
“What about afterward? Why didn’t you tell me the truth after I gave birth to Damian?”
A look of dilemma washed over Slevin’s face as he clutched the steering wheel.
“That’s because the situation at that time was dangerous and something which you
couldn’t ept at all had happened. So, I couldn’t bring myself to bring this up. Rather
than telling you and watching as you live in misery every day, I would rather prefer it
that you live every day happily as you do now.”
