Defending the Water Dragon Settlement
The water dragon settlement was in danger.
There were twenty evil dragons in the sky and thirty magic machines on the ground.
The water dragons were in a desperate battle.
“They got this far in? Has the barrier been breached?”
“Groof!”
Grulf tore into an arch vampire that had appeared behind me to attack.
“Thanks, Grulf!”
I thanked him while creating Icicle Lances.
I was targeting the evil dragons in the sky. In all, 50nces wereunched into the air, and all 20 dragons were hit.
Those that had received lethal wounds came falling to the ground.
Even those who had magic barriers felt their wings freeze, and they lost their bnce. And that was when the water dragon attacked them.
I started to run as soon as the Ice Lances wereunched.
My next target was the magic machines. It required two of my normal magic bullets to take one down.
Using high-power magic was the most effective, but I avoided using wide-area attacks because I didn’t want to identally hurt anyone else.
“...This one should make it quick.”
And so I used Dark Ray, which I had learned from the Evil God head.
Ten ck spheres appeared in the air. The floating ck spheres would shoot the rays of light.
It was the magic of the Evil God.
And with that, the magic machines’ blue barriers were shattered, their armor pierced, and their insides exploded.
“Good.”
After destroying ten of them, I targeted the next ten machines.
And then suddenly, the barriers around the magic machines suddenly changed to ck. And then the Dark Ray hit them.
“What!”
The Dark Rays werepletely stopped by the new barriers.
Apparently, the magic machines could alternate between different kinds of barriers.
“In that case!”
I dashed forward to the closest magic machine and cut it with the Devil King Sword.
All at once, the other magic machines started to attack me.
Hundreds of bullets came flying faster than the eye could see.
—GAGGAGAGAGAGA
I created threeyers of barriers to stop them. The firstyer was quickly shattered, but the other two remained.
I moved quickly and cut through the magic machines.
Grulf was running right behind me. He was very fast.
After shing through the magic machines in the front, I summoned magic spears from the ground to pierce the machines to my right.
Then their barrier changed color again. This time it was clear and colorless.
It seemed that their barriers all changed every time a machine was destroyed.
They had not had this feature whenst I fought them. They had evolved then.
The water dragons were good with water magic.
However, if they destroyed one machine with water magic, then their water magic would no longer work.
So you could say that this feature was very effective when facing water dragons.
“This is going to be a tough battle no matter what.”
And then I shouted.
“Keep using your water magic against the machines!”
“B-but! Mister Ruck! For some reason, our magic doesn’t work!”
One of the water dragons shouted.
“I know! But trust me!”
“Very well!”
And with that, the water dragons all started to use water magic.
To keep this effective, I had to constantly attack them with magic that was not water magic.
And so I used Magic Spears, Dark Ray, and Thunder Strike. I used one after another and destroyed them.
I would even use the Devil King Sword when I could.
Vampire Lords would often try and attack me from behind.
“Groof!”
But Grulf would protect me.
He would tear into their throats and kill them.
“GYAAAA!!”
An evil dragon, whose wings had been frozen, now attacked me with its ws.
I had no time to move, and so I blocked it with my sword.
Then Grulf jumped on the dragon and bit its neck.
“GYAAAA!!”
It seemed that Grulf’s ws could hurt the dragon.
Its movements were not slow enough that I could easily pierce it with spears that came out of the ground and into its stomach.
The dragon let out a final cry before goingpletely still Kathe, Leea and Grand Chambein Morris were also fighting in the forms of dragons.
Morris was as strong as usual.
Kathe seemed like she was trying not to use her wind breath. There was a danger of destroying the entire settlement.
“Metal trash and worms are what you are! Do not underestimate the wind dragon ruler!”
She boasted as her ws tore into the machines and her jaws twisted the necks of the evil dragons.
She blocked the breath of the evil dragons with her wings and with barriers. The current reigning wind dragon was very powerful.
“Watch out!”
Leea was also quite strong. She helped a water dragon who was being attacked by an evil dragon.
And then the water magic. Aqua des cut through the machines.
“Too slow!”
Nia shed a Vampire Lord who had appeared behind Leea.
Nia had been riding on Leea’s back and was protecting her.
“Thank you, Nia.”
“No! Thank you!”
Nia was very happy to be given a position where she could be useful.
“The wind magic is working quite well!”
Kathe cried happily.
She used Toronado de tounch the machines into the air and shred them.
As water magic was being used everywhere, there were no barriers to block her wind magic.
My own fight with the magic machines and the evil dragons was going quite smoothly.
I was now fighting an especiallyrge evil dragon.
First, Iunched a volley of magic spears and icences at it. Then I got up close and attacked with my sword.
But the evil dragon was also strong. It blocked my attacks with barriers and its ws.
It happened just as I was about to use magic again.
“AGGGHH!!”
A vampire attacked me from behind.
Grulf’s jaws mped down and held him back. The vampire was dead in a second. But there was no time for relief.
A different vampire appeared to my side and swung his sword.
I blocked the attack with a barrier, but it was immediately shattered. And so jumped back.
That’s when I noticed that my stomach had been cut. And in the next instant, I felt a wave of dizziness.
