    ra furrowed her brows, trying to keep her voice steady and calm.

    you use another phone to call Emmett. I want to hear him lose all hope in you myself!”

    “But you gotta let me think about how to talk to Emmett and how to make him utterly disappointed.”

    together now. Tell him that those photos are real and that you guys have been sneaking around. He

    “What are youughing at?”


    “I’mughing at how stupid I was. I totally fell for your tricks! I can’t believe I didn’t see your huge


    ambition. I didn’t realize you were using me from the


    start!”


    “I can’t me you! If you had seen through me, where would that leave me?”


    “Fine, fine, I’ll call him now! Since I’ve lost to you, I have to admit it! But you have to keep your word;


    you can’t harm Emmett!”

    ra put down her phone, looked up at Elio, and asked, “Are there any other phones around?”


    Elio frowned, “Are you really going to do this? If you do, you and Emmett…”


    “We’re out of options. If following Leah’s advice can save my two kids, I’ll do it! It’s the best choice.”


    At that point, all Elio could do was agree, “There’s andline in the living room.”


    ra picked up her phone and headed back to the living-room. She started dialing Emmett’s number.
