    But she’s still not sure if she’s knocked up or not. Hopefully not, then all her worries would be for

    ra slipped in quietly and locked the door behind her.


    That was the longest five minutes of her life..


    The first line showed up pretty quickly.


    But, thank God, there was only one line.


    ra leaned against the wall, took a deep breath, and hid in the restroom to avoid being spotted.


    She quickly cleaned up, tossed the test stick into the trash can, and hightailed it out of there. Just as


    she was heading for the office door, she heard the secretary calling her name.


    “ra, Mr. Melendez is asking for you.”


    “Is he on break?”


    “Not usually, but Mr. Melendez says he’s missing you.” The secretary chuckled, teasing in a low voice,


    “Did you put Mr. Melendez under your spell or something? Even during meetings, he wants to see you,


    get some alone time.”


    ra shot him a re, blushing, “If you keep teasing me, I’m gonna tell Mr. Melendez you’re harassing


    me.”


    Hearing this, the secretary immediately raised his hands in surrender, “Don’t do that! Mr. Melendez


    might kick me out of thepany, and you’re his favorite now. I’m sorry. I won’t tease you anymore,


    okay?”


    “I was just joking. Why would I actually tell him? Where is he? I’ll go now.”


    “He’s in the lounge next to the conference room; you should hurry, there isn’t much time left. Don’t let


    Mr. Melendez wait.”


    ra nodded, adjusted her clothes, and headed forward.


    At the door, she needed some mental prep. Otherwise she felt a bit guilty.


    She can’t let Emmett find out she used a pregnancy test.


    But then again, even if he found out, it wouldn’t matter. She wasn’t pregnant. What’s there to be scared


    of?


    She knocked on the door, and when she heard Emmett’s voice, she walked in. But before she could


    react, she was pulled into a hug.


    “Ah!”


    ra yelped in surprise, calming down only after catching a whiff of Emmett’s scent. “Why’d you scare


    me like that?”


    “What, thought it was some other guy?”


    “No, you’re overthinking! Anyone would be startled by such action.”


    Emmett didn’t want to hear any of that, and he silenced her with a kiss.

    The kiss ended.


    Emmett wiped his mouth with satisfaction, “I’m swamped right now, but I’ll try to finish everything during


    office hours, then take you to see the new house.”


    ra’s lipstick was smeared all over her face. She quickly wiped it off, ring at him yfully.


    “Can you not do this at the office? If others see, they might think I’m seducing you since they don’t


    know about us!”


    “What’s there to be scared of? If they find out, they find out! I don’t care; you’re the one who’s too


    conscious about it.”


    “I’m still learning in the design department, and I don’t want people to think I’m getting special


    treatment. If they find out I’m your wife, they might avoid me and be afraid of offending me. I just want


    to maintain a normal rtionship with them, learn from each other, and grow together.
