    In her room, ra quickly changed clothes, showered, and reviewed the meeting notes.


    To avoid disturbing her, Emmett went to the study to hold a video conference.


    They both were busy for a few hours.

    You have work tomorrow and must apany me to a cocktail party.”


    ra was startled and asked, “Huh? What party do I need to attend?”

    “The Melendez family’s old friend, the herty family’s heir, Whitlock herty, is getting married, and I


    need to bring a date. I can’t possibly… take another woman, can I?”


    ra was a bit worried, “If I go, wouldn’t our rtionship be exposed?”


    “No, don’t overthink it!” Emmett said helplessly, “I mostly want you to meet the herty family. Whitlock


    herty and I go way back. He won’t mind you and won’t spill the beans. As for others… Besides


    being my wife and a designer, aren’t you also my secretary? That’s how I’ll exin our rtionship.”


    “Will they believe it?”


    Emmett pulled her into his arms, “You’re just too nervous! They haven’t even started suspecting, and


    you’re already scared!”

    “Hey, speaking of which! You said you and Whitlock herty go way back; howe I’ve never heard

    “He’s always been abroad and probably wouldn’t have returned if not for the wedding! He’s only staying


    for a few days, and I’ll leave again after the wedding.”

    Emmett ran his fingers through her hair, “Go to sleep! I’m pooped.”
