    Emmett suddenly handed her a contract and a detailed chart.


    The chart read


    A hug for ten grand, attending a party as a couple for ten grand, a kiss for fifty grand, and a sleepover


    for a hundred grand


    Emmett said, “Sleepover doesn’t mean we’ll actually be sleeping together”

    her whistle.


    Summer wasing and loads of construction projects were about to kick off. The floor ns and


    design drawings needed to be squared away in advance


    Emmett couldn’t be bothered with these things, so it was up to her to get them serted, and then let


    Emmett rubber–stamp them


    By the time she was done, it was seven in the evening.


    Of course, she hadn’t picked up Alex yet.


    The kid who should’ve been waiting at the kindergarten for his mom showed up at the doorstep of


    Melendez’spany!


    “I remember Mommy said she works here” Alex looked up.


    The towering building made his head spin He couldn’t help but marvel, “If this was my home, that’d be


    sick! I could set up a slide on it, and it’d be so much fun!”


    “Hey kiddo, who are you looking for?”


    The security guard spotted Alex and briskly walked over


    Alex opened his mouth, wanting to say his mom’s name, but then he shook his head, “Mister, can I go


    in and take a look?”


    “Kid, this ain’t a yground! Where are your parents?”


    “My Mom and Dad both work here, I want to surprise them” Alex said with a grin, “They’re so busy they


    forgot to pick me up. See how good I am, making it nere all by myself!”


    “So what are your Mom and Dad’s names? I can look them up and have theme down to get you!”


    “I forgot my mom and dad’s names!”


    “Well, that’s a pickle. I can’t just let you go in.” The security guard hesitated, “You wait here. I’ll have the


    receptionist take you in to look for your folks, okay?”


    Alex nodded hurriedly. “Okay! Thank you!”


    As soon as the guard turned his back, Alex sneaked in after him.


    This little thing was no biggie for him!


    As soon as he entered, he was blown away by the grandeur of thepany lobby!


    This ce was off the chain!


    It was like a freaking pce


    Alex, with his little backpack, was so engrossed in his surroundings he almost forgot he was here to


    find his mom!


    As he was looking around, he suddenly heard someone speaking behind him.


    “Mr. Melendez, the CEO of Luminate Co. is waiting for you! The revisions have also beenpleted,


    please review”


    “Hand it to ra”


    “Sure thing. Mr. Melendez”


    Alex spotted the familiar man. Emmett

    Emmett, expressionless, walked over, “Aiden? What are you doing here at thepany?”


    “I uh well. I was bored and… and… Alex was too nervous to form a full sentence.


    Emmett looked at the boy in front of him, frowning


    “Hold on! You’re not Aiden.”


    This was a statement, not a question


    What he was wearing was clearly not Aiden’s clothes but a regr kindergarten uniform!


    Could it be, he had another son in this world?!
