Chapter 1836
This Cheongsam Is a Unique Item Tonight''s activity was sponsored by Mrs. Barron. After the
opening ceremony, Mrs. Barron, who was wearing a ck evening dress that was gorgeous and
elegant, stood in the middle of the crowd talking to guests surrounding her. Mrs. Barron was in her
fifties and was in very good shape. Her face looked young and energetic, and she was obviously a
very sociable person. Everyone seemed to enjoy talking to her.
Although she was honored as Mrs. Barron, she was actually an outstanding businesswoman.
At that moment, Desmond was pulled aside by one of his acquaintances to have a big chat.
Susan gently tugged at Tina''s sleeve and introduced. "Mrs. Barron owns thergest apparel
enterprise in our country, which engages in both export and import business. All the brands and
studios are vying to be the business partners of herpany!"
Tina nodded.
She already learned about some personal information of Mrs. Barron, who was a very powerful and
influential figure in the clothing industry.
Susan added, "Tina, Mrs. Barron''spany is now soliciting new business partners. A great many
people are watching this opportunity. Out studio also wants to get this annual cooperation contract,
and therefore our goal tonight would be trying to leave a good impression on her!"
Susan''s studio had been developing quite smoothly. After sessful attendance of the Fashion
Weekst time, it had gained considerable fame in the clothing industry, yet it was far from enough.
Tina nodded. "I see!"
Susan nced out of the corners of her eyes and snorted. She wasn''t jealous of, but more like
disdainful of Abby "The brand that Abby is in charge of has rtively good cooperation with Mrs.
Barron''spany. I definitely don''t want to lose to her this time!"
Tina looked up slightly. When she was about to look over at Abby, she suddenly caught sight of a
figure walking towards her. It was Maya Cherry.
Maya was lifting the hem of her skirt which originally swept the ground slightly. She said with a
smile, "Miss Hall, right? Nice to meet you, I''m Maya Cherry!"
Tina felt surprised and became alert at the same time.
She did not notice any air of kindness or friendliness in Maya''s eyes. She nodded calmly. "Nice to
meet you too, Miss Cherry"
Maya raised her hand to flip her hair back in a charming manner. "I met you and President Chin that
day in the hospital. Do you still remember? The two of you left in such a hurry that

I didn''t even have time to say hello to you!"
There was a hint of deliberate provocation in Maya''s tone.
Tina replied with a smile. "Well... We were in a hurry to watch a movie!"
Maya''s words had an implication, indirectly suggesting that there was something fishy between Tina
and Wilson. It was because of this reason that the two of them needed to leave in a hurry. Tina''s
words also had an implication. She wanted to indirectly point out that she and Wilson did not take
Maya seriously at all.
Maya''s face was darkened for a moment, but her smile soon continued. She said, "It seems that
you are an apparel designer. If there is a chance, I hope I could wear a dress designed by you!"
Tina replied her with simrly hypocritical smile.
Maya had no intention of leaving right away. She kept on standing nearby, as if she was very
warmhearted and friendly towards Tina.
Tina frowned.
The activity had already gone halfway through. In order to make the atmosphere more exciting, Mrs.
Barron specially selected a lot of her personal collections of apparel. She ordered her assistants to
disy these apparels at all parts of the site for everyone to watch.
Each piece of these apparels was almost a work of art.
Everyone came forward to have a look at them, and the atmosphere on the scene became even
more lively and bustling.
Tina and Susan were also attracted by these apparels, while Maya, who had been standing nearby,
followed them up.
On a nearby hanger, there was a light- red cheongsam with low- grade slit. It was made of ordinary
cloth, yet the embroidery style was ingenious. There was a golden peacock in his pride
embroidered on the left side of the hem.
The feathers of the peacock were woven with golden threads as thin as hair. The tail of the peacock
was cleverly made into a hollow shape. Under themplight, this cheongsam looked exquisite and
pretty.
Many people were amazed by the embroidery craft. Some of them even reached out their hands
and carefully touched it.
Tina could tell at a nce that this cheongsam had been made through some traditional methods.
Most importantly, the golden threads used for the embroidery were very rarely seen on the market
now.
Tina was so attracted by the cheongsam that she took two steps forward, wanting to appreciate it at
a closer distance. Suddenly, someone gave her waist a hard push.
Caught off guard, Tina staggered forward.
Although Tina''s reaction was quick, there was no one in front of her, and the cheongsam was facing
her at the same time. For this reason, after Tina fell down, her fingers unavoidably scratched the
hem of the cheongsam.
Maya stepped forward to support Tina with a seemingly-kind look. "Miss Hall, be careful!"
Then, she suddenly eximed, "Ah... you have broken Mrs. Barron''s cheongsam! What should we
do now?"
Tina quickly looked over there.
The tail of the peacock was woven with golden threads into a hollow shape, which was exquisite,
but at the same time fragile. It had been torn apart by Tina''s fingers.
Tina was annoyed, and she stared straight at Maya. "You pushed me down just now!"
Maya had followed Tina and Susan here. She and Susan were the only two persons near Tina. It
was impossible for Susan to push down Tina. What''s more, Susan was standing on the right side of
Tina. Then, it must have been done by Maya.
Before she was pushed down, Tina was deliberately on guard against Maya, and was worryed that
thetter might secretly cause trouble for her. She had not expected Maya would do a bad thing
which was so simple and direct.
Maya spread out her hands and said innocently, "Miss Hall, why are you ming me? It''s because
you were too careless! Mrs. Barron loves this cheongsam very much, and it''s a unique item!"
Tina''s eyes were filled with anger.
She realized that Maya was going to deny it adamantly. Although there were some surveince
cameras nearby, the process of her being pushed down by Maya might not have been recorded by
the cameras, as there were many people around who might block the camera, while Maya''s
movements were hardly noticeable.
Susan asked nervously, "Tina, are you all right?"
"I''m fine!" Tina shook her head, and then looked at the cheongsam with a serious and worried look.
"You have ruined such a piece of wonderful work of art!"
"What''s a pity! This''s a unique cheongsam. It''s the only one in the market!"
The crowd gathered around Tina and the cheongsam to see what was happening.
Maya smiled brightly. "Isn''t Miss Hall an apparel designer? As you have broken it, why don''t you try
to repair it!"
Upon hearing that, Susan immediately realized that Maya was an extremely vicious person.
On the one hand, embroidery craft was very traditional, and not everyone could do it. More
importantly, the golden threads which were used to weave the peacock currently could not be found
on the market. Even if it was repaired, the peacock would no longer look like what it used to be.
This was virtually a "mission impossible".
Due to themotion that had been stirred up on the scene, Mrs. Barron, who was originally
talking to others far away, came over here to see what was going on.
She immediately frowned as soon as she noticed that the cheongsam was damaged.
Tina could only say apologetically, "Mrs. Barron, I''m really sorry..."
She clenched her fists tightly, but she could not find suitable words to express her apology.
Susan and Tina hade here tonight in order to leave a good impression on Mrs. Barron.
Unexpectedly, Tina had offended Mrs. Barron by damaging her precious cheongsam.
Tina pursed her lips, and she was trying to find a solution.
Desmond, who had been dragged away by someone before, also came over, wanting to help Tina
out of the predicament. "This was just an ident. Tina wasn''t purposeful when she broke the
cheongsam. Mrs. Barron, can you tell me the price of this cheongsam? I''llpensate you double
the price to sincerely express our apologies!"
Abby, who was standing in the crowd, smiled and shook her head gently. "Desmond, I''m afraid this
won''t work. Just now, Miss Cherry also said that this cheongsam is a unique item that can''t be
measured by money!"
