Chapter 987
The sun came in through the white gauze curtain.
Emily turned over and opened her eyes in a daze. After she raised her hand to block the dazzling
light, she grabbed the small rm clock and looked at it. It was already past ten o''clock.
It was shameful for her to get up sote!
It was Saturday, but still, she felt ashamed to sleep so much because she had spent too much time
with Simon in bedst night.
There was a buzz of the cooker hood in the kitchen. Unlike Emily, Simon always awoke with a
completely refreshed feeling.
While criticizing Simon secretly, Emily climbed out of bed and picked up her pajamas scattered on
the ground. Then she put them on and walked to the bathroom. When she stood up straight, she
gasped.
Oh, she felt her slim waist was sore and numb.
By the time she finished washing up, the dining room was already filled with the aroma of home-
cooked dishes.
In the kitchen, the cooker hood stopped ringing. Simon''s tall and straight figure was still standing in
front of the stove, holding the apron in one hand and a mobile phone in the other hand. It seemed
that he was talking to someone on the phone. However, when he saw her, he immediately stopped
talking and then hung it up.
Emily pulled out her chair and sat down. Then, frowning, she looked at him and asked, "Simon,
what have you been busy with for the past two days?"
Upon getting back home, they returned to their work posts, and their lives also had returned to their
previous track. Simon had been in his office to see patients for these days and had not arranged
any surgery to perform. Each day, he got off work on time, but it seemed that he always had his cell
phone in his hand. Emily noticed that there were always phone callsing in.
"Nothing serious!" Simon lightly pulled his lips.
"Really?" Emily raised her eyebrows.
"Mn." Simon smiled lightly.
Seeing this, Emily could not help squinting.
He kept a secret from her!
When she was about to continue asking something about the secret, Simon reached out his slender
fingers and stuffed a custard bun into her mouth. "Try this. There''s honey in it!"
Emily''s mouth was stuffed full by the bun. Then, all of a sudden, the fragrant aroma of milk and
honey lingered between her mouth and teeth. After spending the romantic night with Simon, she
was so exhausted and hungry now. So, she instantly turned her attention to the bun and took a
large bite from it. "Um, it''s delicious!"
After the meal, Simon put the bowls and spoons into the sink and urged her to hurry up.
"Let''s go quickly, or it''ll be toote!"
When Emily saw his eyebrows rising high, she immediately rolled her eyes upwards and said, "I got
it..."
She wiped her hands, took her coat, and was hurriedly pulled downstairs by him.
More than an hourter, Simon parked the ck Cayenne in the parking lot of the International
Airport terminal.
They went upstairs by elevator and entered the airport lobby. There was a noisy crowd with
suitcases in their hands, and the radio was also broadcasting.
Emily looked around and pointed somewhere, saying, "Over there!"
Calvin was wearing a pine green military uniform and an army cap, so Emily easily spotted him in
the crowd. He had a luggage case with him and checked the time on his mobile phone in his hands.
That day, they met for thest time in the cafe. After Emily making everything clear to him, Calvin
did not contact her anymore.
There was no contact between them until yesterday, which was three days after theirst meet.
Yesterday, Calvin called Emily, saying that he would take the flight tomorrow afternoon to Country S.
That was why she and Simon woulde here today.

Emily and Simon walked over, side by side. The girl Calvin loved had chosen to be with another
man. As a gentleman, he should let go of this girl in his heart, but a sh of depression still shed
across his eyes. However, he quickly covered up his emotion and smiled gently as usual. "Emily,
you are here!"
"Hi, Mr. Chin!" In the end, he nodded slightly to Simon.
Simon gave him a light smile as a response.
As they stopped before him, Simon, who held Emily''s hand the whole time, put his arm around her
shoulder with much strength - he closed up the space between Emily and him.
Emily ignored his childish behavior and turned to Calvin. "Calvin, have you finished your boarding
procedures?"
"Yes, it''s all done!" Calvin nodded, showering her his passport and boarding pass in his hand.
After a pause, he looked at her and said gently, "Emily, I''ve exined everything to my family."
Emily was stunned.
He had split up with her. Originally, he nned to find a suitable chance to tell it to his family after
arriving in Country S. She certainly knew that it was she who brought this trouble to him, so she
hesitantly asked him, "Calvin, are we still friends?"
"Sure!" Calvin nodded with a smile and then looked at the man beside her. "As long as Mr. Chin
doesn''t mind it!"
"Mn, I don''t mind!" Simon slowly curled his lips.
At least, he should be very polite and very correct at this time, though he really wanted to say that
he minded it!
Emily could not help sighing with emotion. "Calvin, I didn''t expect you to go back to Country S so
soon!"
"Neither do I!" Calvin said in a slightly bitter tone and looked at Simon with eyes ofplicated
emotion.
Simon''s amorous eyes blinked slightly. However, he looked nk and innocent as if he knew
nothing about what was going on.
But Emily did not notice the subtle changes in their attitudes toward each other. She then said
sincerely, "No matter what, Calvin, I hope that when you go back, your career will go up a level. May
you get promoted to the captain as soon as possible!" "Okay, I will try my best!" Calvin replied, his
eyes very gentle.
Simonzily curled his lips. "Try your best to defend the border for our country. Well invite you to our
wedding!"
"..." Emily secretly hit him with her elbow.
How could he talk in such an obviously rude way to provoke Calvin? He was too shameless!"
Fortunately, Calvin would never make a fuss about such a trifle with others. He just smiled politely
and said, "Okay."
The radio had begun to broadcast the following flight numbers and reminded passengers to board
their ne. Calvin''s flight number was among them.
Calvin picked up the handle of his luggage case and suddenly shouted at her in a low voice,
"Emily."
"Huh?" Emily looked at him.
He wanted to ask if he could hug her for thest time.
However, when the words were about toe out of his mouth, he swallowed them.
Since she was destined not to belong to him, it was pointless for him to hold onto thest trace of
hope that did not exist at all.
Calvin gripped the handle in his hand tighter, showing his usual gentle smile. He tidied up his cor
and military cap, stood up straight, and shook his head. "It''s all right. It''s time to go through the
security check!"
Emily nodded and said, "Well, wish you a safe journey!"
"Thank you. Goodbye!"
"Bye!"
After waving goodbye, Emily and Simon stood still, watching Calvin walk to the security point step
by step with his suitcase.
When he was halfway there, someone popped up from the side and bumped into him.
It was a young girl who wore her hair in a bun. She knocked both of their suitcases onto the ground.
After picking them up, the girl immediately apologized to him. "Ah, I''m sorry. I''m really sorry. My
contact lenses just fell off, so I didn''t see you there!" "It''s okay!" Calvin answered gently.
Then, Calvin and the girl walked away from the security checkpoint and disappeared from their
sight.
Emily watched them from afar. Somehow, a strange expectation rising in her heart: it would be so
great if this girl became Calvin''s girlfriend!
Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a creepy voice came to her ears. "What are you thinking
about? Do you regret being with me?"
