Chapter 951
Simon got a day off the next day.
The sun was setting as time goes by. They were going to the mother''s ce to keep the
appointment they made yesterday. Emily found a long dress in the wardrobe and got dressed up.
At this time, she was lying on the bed, answering a phone call from her cousin Selena Jones back
in Ice city.
Selena still sounded surprised, "Emily, I still feel surreal. You''re sure that it''s all true. Why it feels like
stories in TV ys?"
Beside Emily''s best friends, only Selena knew about Simon''s disease. There no secrets between
the sisters. Emily had told Selena not to tell their elders to avoid unnecessary worries. Although
Selena was unreliable sometimes, she could still figure out the seriousness of this matter.
"Do you think that I want all this to be true?" Emily pursed her lips.
If she could, she even wanted time go back to the time when they were separated...
They had missed half a year''s time, and she didn''t want to waste another minute or second.
"By the way, sister, I admire you so much!" Selena could sense the mncholy in her voice. She
sighed and then asked, "By the way, how is Simon? Is he still refusing to make peace with you?"
"Well, he doesn''t want to be a burden to me." With her eyshes down, Emily said in sadness.
How could she not know his thoughts?
He let her go and prayed for her happiness on his own initiative, and kept their distance. It was
because he felt that he was infected and might leave the world at any time, and he did not want to
be a burden to her.
She sniffed and snorted. "I have no idea. I can only do it step by step. Anyway, no matter what he
does, I can''t leave him!"
Selena remained silent for a few seconds after Emily''s words, and then she asked, "Emily, I''m
curious. Simon has an AIDS that can''t be cured in his life. Are you really not afraid? Have you made
up your mind that you will stay by his side even you may be infected by him?"
"Of course!" Emily answered without hesitation.
It was because he was sick that her determination to stay beside him was even stronger. From the
moment she apologized to Calvin Desmond that she could not marry to him, and from the moment
she packed up her luggage to get here from Ice city, she had already made up her mind.
Selena thought for a moment and said, "If that''s the case, there''s actually one direct and simplest
way!"
Hearing this, Emily couldn''t help sitting up straight. "What is it?"
Hanging up the phone, she narrowed her eyes. A light of cunning flickered in her eyes.
There was a knock on the door. And Simon''s deep voice prated the door. "Emily, are you
ready? We ought to go out!"
"Coming! I''ming!" Emily got off the bed and sprung to her feet.
When they arrived at the mother''s house, it was the dusk.
This was not amon residential building, but a yard. There was a grass shed beside the yard, in
which a lot of cows were reared. They wagged their tails and made moos from time to time.
They were stepping on earth. At the center of the yard was a bungalow. Because the bungalow was
too small, the dining tables were all set in the yard.
There were about five or six tables, having filled up the entire courtyard. Each table was surrounded
by locals. They spoke in obscure vernacr, but the simplest happiness could be seen from their
faces.
After butchering the two cows, the host sent one to the market and left the other to enjoy. There
were almost no other dishes on the table. All were beef.
The whole feast was simr to agritainment. The beef offal soup was contained in a utensil as big
as wash bowl. The other tes were filled with beef made in local methods. Beside beef, there
were also special snacks of Tbridge city.
The moment they entered the courtyard, the mother weed them warmly.
The seats had been reserved. The mother led them to their seats on the innermost table.
Emily thanked her and pulled out a chair to sit down. A voice came from the side, "Miss Sam?"
"Mr. Perry?" She turned her head and looked over. She was suddenly stunned and asked in
surprise, "Why are you here too? Are you a rtive of this family?"
Guest sitting at this table should be rtives of the family. Most of them were locals, and many of
them were dressed in local costumes. They did not expect that Tyler Perry was also at this table.
"No!" Tyler shook his head, pointed to the child of the mother sitting in the opposite and exined,
"That child is a student in my ss. The student was attacked by his disease twice before and I
helped send him to the hospital. His mother wanted to show her gratitude and insisted on inviting
me toe over. I really can''t refuse!"
Emily nodded. She understood. It was yet another offer too hard to turn down.
"Let''s change seats!"
Suddenly, Simon''s deep voice sounded.
As she turned around, she saw dark clouds on his handsome face. She held herughter and
pretended to be puzzled and asked, "Why do you want to change seats?"
Simon frowned. After a long while, he finally came up with a reason, "It''s not easy for you to pick up
food there!"
Seeing that his brows were all tensed up, Emily stopped teasing him. Instead, she agreed and
switched seats with him. Simon then sat between Emily and Tyler.
Simon rxed a little bit after changing the seats.
Emily watched as he moved his upper body back and forth from time to time to block her and Tyler''s
line of sight. It was like a wall to separate them. She couldn''t help but snicker.
After all the dishes were served, the dinner began.
The mother, who had been busy preparing the dinner, came over and sat next to her son,
enthusiastically greeting every guest.
Emily took a piece of beef from the te with her chopsticks. It tasted different from that in the
restaurant because a kind of herb was added. It was especially fresh and tender, and was also very
nutritious.
Naturally, during the dinner, they would mention Simon''s saving of the child. The table was full of
praises.
A rtive sitting next to the mother said in influent officialnguage, "Dr. Chin''s medical skills are so
excellent. It''s really lucky for us to have doctors like Dr. Chin!"
"Yes, whoever troubled by heart disease could just ask Dr. Chin for help!"
"Dr. Chin, it''s a deal. We''re all looking for you for surgery!"

The guests all echoed with the rtive, and everyone looked at Simon.
"Don''t say that. It''s best that everyone could stay healthy and stay away from hospital!" Simon
paused for a while, and the smile on his face faded little by little. His lips twitched and he said
bitterly, "And, I won''t perform operations any more."
Everyone heard his words and looked at each other in silence. They didn''t understand why he said
that.
Simon''s Adam''s apple rolled and he remained silent.
A hand quietly put on the back of his hand under the table.
