An Intense pain struck through my body as I open my eyes and regain my senses, leaving me withering in agony as I try to take a breath but the pain in my chest making it hard for me to do so…
(what happened?)
“He?s conscious !!”
“Son , Look at me , can you see me ? stay with me“
I can hear voices around me, but I can’t make anything out of them, however. One thing is clear, they are shouting, one of them seem to be panicking while the other is just. Desperate, that’s how It sounds to me.
My view is obstructed, I can’t see anything around me, only darkness.
(Ah, it’s hot here, where am I? what have I been doing? I can’t seem to remember anything. )

“Dammit, He lost his consciousness”
“Honey! what should we do?! shall we try to pull him out?”
“Can’t you see the car on fire?! We won’t be able to do anything, you called 911, right? all we can do is wait and pray that they arrive soon to save him”
“You are right. Let’s hope he doesn’t end like the people in the front scene….”
“…Yeah, they are properly his parents…that’s just tragic.”
“Let’s pray for help to arrive soon..we don’t have anything to put off the fire on our own..”

At a seemingly government owned hospital quit a ruckus was stirred up.
“Doctor!”
“I’m here! What do we have?”
“A boy, possibly 10-12 years old, both of his legs are broken, a fractured arm and several broken ribs as well as a head injury”
Such conversation can be heard in the hallway where 5 people were rushing as they were moving a young unconscious boy to the surgery room, they were wearing white robes and scrubs with tense and worried expressions on their faces.
“What happened exactly?”
“A car accident, a married couple informed the authorities about it, the car was in a horrible state and on fire, three passengers, two of whom were properly the boy parents, they died on spot, the firemen and paramedics couldn’t do anything about them”
“…Dammit. Identity?”
“None, they are currently identifying the parents & identifying the car plate”
“...The only thing we can do right now is focus on saving this boy.”
The group of 5 had a determined expression on their face as they silently made their way to the room.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

In a white hallway, 2 men wearing long coats were standing.
“Chief, Smoking isn’t allowed.”
“Tsk, Calm Down boy, I was just checking on the cigarettes, I always seem to forget them, anyway, any news from the HQ?””
“Yes sir, we will need more time to identify the parents, but we got a hit on the car, it belongs to Mr. Adam Willet, a 35-year-old wealthy business man, we ran a background check on him and he had a wife and a son, Mrs. Margret and Michaels respectively, the boy matches the photo on the record and the early analysis seems to confirm that the man is in his thirties, so it’s safe to assume that both Mrs. Margret and Mr. Adam are the two-burnet corpse and a bullet in the head”
“A bullet in the head huh? a plotted crime, any more info? “
“The car is in a horrible state so It’s hard to know what happened, however our inspection until now shows that the car was damaged before the accident, more specifically gun bullets”
“So, they got tracked down and chased?”
“That what It seems like, however the car was bullet proof so the bullets didn’t harm the passengers during the chase”
“Hah, looks like we will need to wait and ask the boy, he is supposed to be out from the surgery room in a few mins, right? “
“Indeed chief, The Surgeon performing the operation said that his life was not in danger, but it will take some time from him to wake up”
“well then, all we have to do is just wait for him and guard him, in case the people who plotted his father death know that he Is still alive.”
“Indeed sir, we just have to wait.”

May 28, 7:18 PM
In a white spacious room, a boy was sitting on a bed with several tubes sticking to his body & bandaged all over, while on his side were 2 policemen.
“So, Michaels, can you tell me what happened exactly?”
“…”
The boy just stood there silent, staring at the man who identified himself as Officer Mark, with a cold gaze that didn’t contain any hint of emotion & replied with a voice , that similarly , had no emotions in it.
“…we were driving back home from a meeting with my father clients , something like this was normal for us as we did it once a month at least , on our way back 2 cars suddenly speed up and surrounded us on both sides , in the next moment , they opened their windows and masked people holding rifles emerged from both cars & started shooting at us , I was terrified and ducked down while my mother was screaming , but apparently the bullets didn’t pass through the windows as they were bullet proof , so they gave up on it quickly and started shooting the front of the cars and wheels , my father was trying to escape from them , seemingly headed toward the town centre which was the nearest populated place to us , however at that moment , the tires burst and my father lost control of the car and , as to make matters worse , the engine exploded , we bumped into the road side , I hit my chest and head at the door , my father hit his head and lost conscious and the same thing happened to my mother , I heard some steps and ignoring my pain I rolled under the car backseats when the people who I assume to be the one who shot us in the chase came to where the car is , they exchanged a few sentences that I wasn’t able that make sense of them due to fear at that time and then I heard two gun shots , a few moments later I heard two cards drive away , I tried to get out of the car but I was stuck and smoke started to raise , I later lost consciousness.”
“…”
“…”
The two officers, stared at the boy with blank expressions as he told them what happened without any fear, sadness or actually, any emotion at all. Someone who just lost both his parents will be greatly shacked or weeping, but the boy in front of them didn’t show any signs of anything, like nothing worth mention happened or as If he is a robot who was programmed to answer like this.
“…We will take our leave for now.”
“But Chief- “
“We’re leaving.’’
The Chief, Mike, with a serious expression on his, cut short his subordinate.
Having left the room, both of them left to find the doctor responsible for the boy, they stopped in front of a man, apparently in his late 40s or early 50s with white hair.
“Doctor Morgen, we need to talk””
“About the boy I assume?”
“Indeed, I went ahead to talk to him and tried to ask him in a friendly matter about what happened, I didn’t expect him to answer me as I know how hard it is for someone to lose both his parents but he answered him immediately, I felt chills run down my spine as I stared into his eyes, he was nonchalant about the whole thing, as If it doesn’t concern him, I felt something was wrong and went ahead to find you before continuing questioning him”
The Doctor, Morgen, sighted after hearing Chief Mike words and replied with a solemn tone
“The boy hit his head hard, causing neurologicalinjury to the brain. I was going to investigate faster as a neurological injury may cause a lot of things, but according to your words…The boy possibly has lost his emotions.”
“Lost, his emotions?”
“Yes. They know what emotions are, can explain them & have no problem in their reasoning or analytical ability, but they just can’t feel emotions”
The three of them had an indescribable expression on their faces, was it sorrow? sadness? shock? Even they can’t say.
“...Did something like this happen before?”
“There are quite a few cases around the world with similar problem. Some cases improve after a few months but others..don’t improve at all.”
“So..what you are saying is...”
“Yes, the boy, Michaels Adam, lost his emotions, We will need to run more tests and wait till the boy is completely cured from his fractures and broken bones, maybe the shook was too great for him, but I don’t see it happening so..most likely losing his emotions is the cause”
Silence enveloped the room as the three of them just stood there staring at each other
“Are there any side effects to it? aside from losing emotions?”
“Yes..Ultimately , people who lost their emotions become utterly incapable of making decisions and spend the rest of their lives in medical institutions”
“..”
“..As I said before we need more testing to be sure.”
“right..”
A smile full of despair and pain appeared on their faces as each of them left to their respective jobs
