Chapter 138
Evander had already filled up her schedule for the day, as he knew she wouldn’t be able to refuse him.
After arriving at the mall, Evander parked the car and opened the door for them.
Floretta hadn’t gone out with Evander and Angeline in a long time, so she was feeling really happy and
excited. She grabbed them by the hands and hopped and skipped all the way.
Because it was a weekday afternoon, there weren’t a lot of people at the mall.
Even so, Angeline still tilted the brim of her hat down and kept ncing about for fear of being
recognized.
After riding the elevator to the top floor where the movie theater was located, Evander scanned their
surroundings and said, “Wait for me.”
He then made his way over to the concession stand and told the staff something. A few minutester,
he returned with two buckets of popcorn and some drinks.
“You girls say snacks are a must when watching movies, so I got us some. Is this enough?” he asked
with an expressionless look on his face, but his gentle gaze melted Angeline’s heart instantly.
“Yes, this is enough,” Angeline replied as she took the popcorn over and handed some of it to Floretta,
who had been eyeing it the whole time.
One of the staff approached them and said respectfully, “Wee, Mr. Golding. We have finished
preparing the movie theater.”
“All right, lead the way,” Evander replied.
The staff nodded in response and politely ushered them into the movie theater.
Angeline had a confused look on her face as she followed behind them.
The staff then opened the door, revealing a private VIP theater with a projector, three recliners,
nkets, and tes of fruits on the side.
“There’s no one else around, so you can take your hat off,” Evander said as he made his way into the
VIP theater.
“Thank you,” Angeline replied gratefully as she took in the isted yet cozy environment around her.
I didn’t think a busy man like him would take the time to watch a movie with us, let alone make all these
arrangements on such short notice!
Evander knew Angeline couldn’t rx in crowded areas, so he decided to book an entire theater.
On top of that, he also chose a lightheartededy film in hopes of relieving Angeline’s stress with the
characters’ goofy expressions and jokes.
Sure enough, Angeline was feeling a lot better by the time they exited the movie theater.
As the sky got dark, Hallsbay became brightly lit with colorful neon lights that illuminated the entire city.
Angeline and Floretta both had leftover popcorn in their buckets when they left the mall with Evander.
The three of them had just stepped out of the entrance when Angeline picked up a sweet scent in the
air. She swallowed in anticipation when she saw that it wasing from a stall selling roasted
chestnuts.
“Do you want some?” Evander asked when he noticed her response.
Angeline lowered her gaze as she replied, “Forget it. I don’t want to risk getting recognized, as it would
cause you a lot of problems.”
Despite what she said, the smell of the roasted chestnuts got her drooling a little.
It was her favorite snack, after all. She liked it so much that she would always have her assistant buy
her some whenever she was filming on set.
While Angeline was trying hard to resist the temptation, she heard Evander saying in a deep voice,
“Wait here.”
The next thing she knew, he was making his way toward the stall.
What? Evander, who would only show up at high-end ces, is now queuing up at a roasted chestnut
stall for me?
There were lots of girls in their twenties queuing up at the stall. Each of them gasped in shock when
they saw how handsome Evander was and began taking pictures of him on their phones.
“He’s so handsome! Is he some kind of celebrity?”
“Nonsense! Judging by his style, I’d say he’s more of a host for some television show or something!”
“Hey, handsome! Can I have your number?”
The look on Evander’s face turned extremely gloomy when he saw them surrounding him and
gossiping about him.
Angeline felt so amused by his expression that she burst outughing while holding Floretta in her
arms.

Not wanting to let such a hrious moment go to waste, she whipped out her phone and took a picture
of Evander’s expression.
She even went as far as making it into a WhatsApp sticker with the caption “You dare cross me?” and
sent it to Nancy.
A few secondster, she received a reply from Nancy in the form of a voice message. Angeline tapped
on the message and heard Nancy cackling before saying, “Oh, you’re done for, Angeline! I bet Mr.
Golding will get so mad that he’ll ban you from the entertainment industry!”
Angeline replied confidently: Nah, he wouldn’t!
As Evander was always protecting her, Angeline had grown increasingly bold without even realizing it.
Because of how much he spoiled her, Angeline no longer had to be so cautious in everything she did.
Angeline held her phone against her chest and broke into a gentle smile at the thought of that.
Ding!
She returned to her senses when she heard the sound of her phone ringing.
Angeline’s face clouded over when she nced at the screen and saw that it was a call from Hanson.
She wasn’t all that surprised as she knew he would contact her.
In fact, his call actually came a littleter than she had expected.
After taking a deep breath, Angeline answered the call and held the phone up to her ear.
To her surprise, she heard really loud music sting in the background when Hanson asked,
“Angeline? Is that you?”
Why does he sound like he’s a little excited to speak to me?
Angeline frowned as she responded with a sarcastic chuckle. “To what do I owe the pleasure of getting
a call from you at this hour, Mr. Yiurk?”
Hanson fell silent for quite a while after hearing that. Unable to stand the loud music in the background,
Angeline was about to hang up when Hanson spoke up again.
“I need to see you, Angeline.”
“I don’t think there’s a need for us to see each other. Just say whatever it is you have to say over the
phone,” Angeline replied coldly.
“It’s about that child’s whereabouts. Do you really think I can tell you that over the phone?”
Angeline shuddered when she heard what Hanson said.
She tightened her grip on her phone, and her voice trembled slightly as she asked, “What do you mean
by that?”
“Meet me at Charming Temptation. I’ll be waiting for you in private room number five,” Hanson replied,
avoiding her questionpletely.
“Remember toe alone, or you can forget about getting any information on that child’s
whereabouts,” he reminded her after a brief pause and hung up the phone immediately after.
Angeline began to panic after getting off the phone.
Hanson has been with Joseline for so many years now. I bet he must’ve heard about what happened
back then. He might just have the information I’m looking for!
