Reba’s anger simmered just below the surface as she stared at the TV. She wanted tosh out, but she knew Sean was right. She needed to stay calm for Lily’s sake.
“Becky, I know it’s hard, but we need to focus on what’s important,” Sean said softly, his eyes full of concern.
Reba took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “You’re right, Sean. I just… it’s so frustrating. They keep dragging my name through the mud.”
“I know. But we’ll get through this together. Remember, it’s all about Lily’s safety,” Sean
reassured her.
Reba nodded, her gaze drifting back to Lily, who was now happily cooing in Sean’s arms. “I just hate that she’s caught up in all of this.”
Sean kissed Lily’s forehead. “She’s a strong little girl. Just like her mom.”
Reba smiled weakly. “Thanks, Sean.”
Sean handed Lily back to Reba. “Why don’t you take Lily for a walk in the park? It’ll help clear your head.”
Reba hesitated, then nodded. “That sounds like a good idea.”
Sean smiled. “Great. I’ll pack a small bag for Lily, and you can get ready.”
Reba took Lily to her room and started getting her dressed. As she buttoned up Lily’s little dress, she couldn’t help but think about the gossip and how it would affect her daughter in the future. She vowed to do everything she could to protect Lily from the harshness of the world.
A few minutester, Sean appeared at the doorway with a small bag. “Here you go. packed some snacks and her favorite toys.”
“Thanks, Sean,” Reba said, taking the bag.

“Take your time. I’ll be here when you get back,” Sean said, giving her an encouraging smile.
Reba left the apartment and headed to the nearby park. The fresh air and the sight of children ying helped ease her mind a little. She found a quiet spot under a tree

and sat down with Lily on herp.
Lily looked up at her with wide, innocent eyes, and Reba felt a surge of love and guilt. “We’re going to be okay, Lily, I promise she whispered.
As she sat there, lost in her thoughts, her phone buzzed. It was a text from Sean.
Sean: “How are you holding up?”
Reba smiled and quickly typed back.
Reba: “We’re good. The park is nice. Thank you for suggesting it.”
Sean: “Anytime. Just wanted to check in. Take your time.”
Reba put her phone away and focused on Lily, who was now ying with her hair. She felt a sense of peace wash over her, at least they had each other.
After a while, she decided it was time to head back. As she made her way to the apartment, she felt so much better. She wasn’t going to let Victoria or anyone else dictate her life.
When she walked through the door, Sean was in the kitchen, making lunch. He looked up and smiled. “How was the park?”
“It was good. Thank you,” Reba said, setting the bag down and cing Lily in her ypen.
“Lunch will be ready soon. Why don’t you rx for a bit?” Sean suggested.
Reba nodded and sat down on the couch, feeling more at case. She watched as Sean moved around the kitchen, his movements quick and efficient. He always knew how to make her feel better, and she was grateful for his support even though she was sure they would never be more than that.
As they sat down to cat, Reba’s phone buzzed again. She nced at it and saw another message; it was from Cassic.
“Becky, I’ve seen thetest news. Do you want to take any legal action?”
Reba sighed, showing the message to Scan. “What do you think?”
Sean frowned. “I think we need to be careful. Legal action might escte things. Maybe

we should wait and see how this develops.”
Reba nodded. “You’re right. I just hate feeling so helpless.”
Sean reached across the table and squeezed her hand. “We’ll get through this, Becky. One step at a time. When Lily grows up you’ll be grateful for taking this path, I promise.”
Reba smiled, feeling a bit more reassured. “Thank you, Sean.”
Sean nodded, his eyes warm. “Always.”
After lunch, they decided to spend the afternoon nning their trip to Italy. They spread out maps and travel brochures on the living room floor, discussing potential itineraries and must–see ces.
“I can’t believe we’re really doing this,” Reba said, a hint of excitement in her voice. “Me neither,” Scan replied, grinning. “It’s going to be amazing.”
As they nned, Lily was in the bouncer between them, asionally babbling and crying. Reba watched her, feeling a sense of contentment she hadn’t felt in a long time.
They spent hours nning, ughing, and dreaming about their trip. By the time they were done, they had a solid n and a list of ces they wanted to visit.
“Rome, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast. It’s going to be incredible,” Sean said, looking at their finalized itinerary.
Reba nodded, feeling a sense of excitement bubbling up. “I can’t wait.”
As the evening approached, they decided to order takeout for dinner. They settled on the couch, eating and watching a movie, enjoying the rare moment of peace.
Reba sat beside Sean and looked at him deeply. “Sean, thank you for today. I really needed it, and I should’ve known from the start that this fake marriage is the answer to my problem and yours,” she said softly.
Sean smiled, patting his hand on her shoulder. “Anytime, Becky. I’m here for you and Lily. Always.”
Reba smiled. She would focus on their family holiday ande back stronger. She

would ignore all the bad voices out there and focus only on people who cared about her.
As the movie ended and they put Lily to bed, Reba felt tired and sleepy. She looked at Sean, who was tucking Lily in, and knew that they were building a life together as a family.
Later, as they got ready for bed, Reba turned to Sean. “I’ve been thinking… maybe. we should go public with our trip. Show everyone that we’re a strong family. I’ll post it on my social media and let my millions of followers see how happy we are.”
Sean considered it for a moment, then nodded. “That could be a good idea. It might help deflect some of the negativity.”
Reba smiled. “Then it’s settled. We’ll announce once we get there.”
Sean grinned. “Sounds like a n.”
“Well, good night then,” said Reba, signaling Sean to leave her bedroom. N?velD(ram)a.?rg owns this content.
Sean nodded, “Good night, fake wifey,” he said, half–joking. Reba couldn’t hold herughter. She pressed her palm to her mouth, afraid to make a sound and wake her baby up.
She looked at Sean’s back away from her and suddenly felt that their rtionship seemed to have hope, although not soon. She slept soundly that night and ridiculously dreamed of Harvey appearing in her bedroom without a single thread covering his body…
