Reba paced back and forth in her room, her hands trembling. Honestly, she wouldn’t care if someone else had said that, but Cathy was her good friend. How could she do that to her?
She stopped near Lily’s crib and crouched because her knees were too shaky. She felt very angry at a situation that always cornered her. But Ang’s words echoed in her ears, that she just had to be selfish and prioritize herself.
Once again, Lily’s crics saved her from prolonged overthinking. She quickly picked up Lily and looked deeply into her face..
“I’ll never let anyone take our happiness, Lily, I promise, even if I have to be a bitch,” she murmured, her eyes red as she finally shed tears.

“No problem, I’ve been keeping myself busy with teleconferences to ensure everything goes smoothly tomorrow. You must be very tired. If you’re still sleepy, you can continue sleeping, and I’ll take care of Lily.”
Suddenly, the front door opened, and Sean appeared, carrying several shopping bags in
his hands.

“I’ll wash my hands and change clothes,” Sean said as he hurriedly ced all the shopping bags on the kitchen ind and quickly headed to his room. But he suddenly remembered that his mother was there and would be confused to see him and Reba having separate rooms.
Reba swallowed hard, thinking the same thing. “Um, Ang, can you show me the wedding venue? I haven’t had a chance to see it,” she said, deliberately bleski view and signaling to

Reba red, “Sean? Why?”
“Becky dear, Sean wants to give the impression that you’ve moved on and left everything rted to the Specter family behind,” Ang said, trying to reassure Reba.
“Do you think so? Well, I don’t know. After what Cathy said about me, I’m not sure any famous person wants to deal with me now. I mean, even the public might hate me,” she said, gently stroking Lily’s cheek.
“Are you sure you’re going to let that fire burn your entire career instead of trying to put it out?” Sean interrupted, suddenly appearing and dropping himself onto the sofa across from Reba.
“What are you trying to say?” Reba asked, confused.
“About your friend or ex–friend, Cathy. Do you know where she is now?” Sean asked

Reba shook her head, “Ist saw her at the airport when we first arrived here. She might have moved to a safer ce,” she answered, half–dreaming.
Sean opened his phone, scrolled, and searched for something. Shortly after, he showed Reba his phone screen.
“I identally found this, sent by one of your fans,” he said quickly.
Reba frowned, feeling all her joints ache and her chest hurt when she saw Cathy and her family sunbathing at an expensive resort in Hawaii. She didn’t look pressured at all as if she enjoyed tradingfort for her friend.
“I can’t speak ill of Cathy, at least she was a good friend to me,” she said sadly.

Sean shrugged. “Well, if you say so, Have you seen the wedding <i>ring</i><i>?</i>” he asked, trying to change the topic after seeing the sadness and disappointment on Reba’s <b>face</b>.
“Not yet, show me, please!” Reba forced a smile, turning her gaze to the kitchen ind where Sean had ced all the shopping bags.
“Here, take a look,” Sean said, cing a ring box on the table in front of Reba, then leaned down to take Lily from her arms.
Silently, Ang smiled with teary eyes. She never thought that after three years of hiding in the clinic, her only son could finally live his life properly again.
Reba reached for the ring box and slowly opened it. Her eyes sparkled when she saw a beautiful ring with a sizable diamond on it.
“Sean, you didn’t have to buy me a diamond. I mean, this wedding-” Reba swallowed hard, momentarily forgetting that Ang was there. “I mean, this wedding is not my first time. I don’t think I deserve it,” she said, feeling relieved she found the right words.
“Oh dear, what are you talking about? You have no idea how precious you are! You deserve more than this diamond ring. Don’t ever say that again,” Ang interjected. sincerely.
Reba looked up at Ang, her eyes suddenly ssy. “Thanks, Ang,” she said with a choked voice.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang loudly. Sean frowned and checked the surveince camera from his phone. “Ah, it’s the girl from the boutique yesterday. What was her name. again?”
“Cassic! Yeah, that’s her name. I’ll let her in,” Reba said, standing up and walking to the door.
“Hi, Cassie!” Reba greeted her like she was greeting an old friend. Cassie swallowed. hard and smiled nervously, making Reba frown in confusion.
“Cassic, what’s with that face? And where’s my dress<b>? </b>Is it still in the car?” Reba asked, curious because Cassie wasn’t holding anything.
“Um, Ma’am<b>, </b>can we talk?” Cassie asked nervously.
“Of course, let’s get in,” Reba said, stepping back and letting Cassie into the condo.
