“Nic, don’t scare me, what’s going on?” she asked, pushing her wheelchair towards Nichs.
“YOU’RE FAMOUS!” eximed Nichs with a broad smile on his face. “My secretary just sent me a link to your social media ount, and wow! I didn’t expect you to be this famous.”
Reba winced. “Yeah, ny thousand followers, not bad,” she replied, reaching for her phone on the table.
“Ny thousand? You better check your phone now,” Nichs said impatiently.
“You’re making me nervous,” Reba muttered as she opened her phone, which was filled with endless notifications draining its battery. She quickly opened her social media ount, and her eyes almost popped out when she saw her follower count had hit eight hundred thousand. “Jeez, is this even real?” she murmured in disbelief.
Suddenly, Nichs bent down and hugged her from behind. “I’m so proud of you!” he eximed, kissing her head gently. Belonging ? N?velDram/a.Org.
Reba felt all her muscles tense up. She still wasn’t used to any touch from Nichs.
“So! Now that you’re this famous, what will you do?” Nichs asked, releasing his hug and walking around to sit on the sofa before Reba.
Reba cleared her throat softly, trying to dispel the difort from her mind. “Well, I’m just going to go with it. This is just the beginning. After a few pieces of content I created in the past month, I gained over eight hundred thousand followers in just one day. I don’t think there’s a more promising job for me than this,” she said, trying to sound more rxed so Nichs would believe her.
“Good! Want to bet? Of the thousands of direct messages in your social media ount, some are probably from clients wanting to coborate with you,” Nichs said with a confident smile.
Reba swallowed hard. “Do you think so?” she replied, scrolling through the direct messages
in her inbox. Nichs was right; several brands were inquiring about her rate card. She ced her phone back on the table and covered her mouth with her hand, her face shocked. She still couldn’t believe the path to sess was wide open for her.

Nichs smiled. “See! Without Harvey, your life is even better! You more than deserve all this,” he said, approaching Reba and gently stroking her head.
Those words were supposed to beforting, but instead, they made Reba uneasy. She didn’t want anyone to stop her from avenging Alicia’s crime towards her, including Nichs. But she still put a smile on her face, appreciating Nichs’s kindness, who even moved to LA just to make sure she was okay.
“Want to celebrate together?” Nichs said cheerfully, making Reba unable to refuse.
“Okay! Um, let’s order some food and cold beer! It’s on me!” Reba eximed, grabbing her phone, hoping Nichs would move away from her side.
Nichs snatched Reba’s phone. “No, please! Let’s go out! Let’s have dinner at a good restaurant around here! Becky, you can’t keep locking yourself in here, you need to go out and breathe in a lot of fresh air!”
Reba winced, squeezing her sweaty hands, then nodded slowly. “Okay then.”
“Great! I’ll pick you up at seven, wear something nice. I’ll take you to a fine dining restaurant that serves the best steak in LA!” Nichs eximed, kissing Reba’s cheek, and waved goodbye.
Reba sighed deeply. She didn’t know why it was so hard for her to get Harvey out of her head. She even felt ufortable every time Nichs tried to touch her as if she were betraying Harvey.
“Damn it! Have I lost my mind? Harvey cruelly dumped me and chose that devil woman over me! Come on, Becky, what’s wrong with you? You need to focus on avenging Alicia, not on holding onto feelings for your foolish ex–husband!” she muttered, hitting her head in frustration.
“If Nichs really loves me, why don’t I try to give him a chance? Come on, Becky! Life must go on!” she muttered, trying to convince herself.
After patting herself and feeling better, she chose the best outfit she had in her closet but then she realized that she didn’t even have an outfit suitable for a fine dining restaurant, and her bank ount was almost empty. While she was still confused, a message suddenly came from Nichs.
‘Hey, a courier will deliver a dress for you soon, hope you like it!”

Reba smiled slightly. Maybe a man like Nichs was what she needed in her life. She sighed deeply, then opened her iPad, starting to n new content to upload on her social media.
A few hourster.
At seven p.m., Reba’s doorbell rang loudly. Reba cleared her throat nervously. She felt like a seventeen–year–old girl about to go to prom night. She grabbed the small ck purse Nichs had bought for her, then wheeled her wheelchair to the door and slowly opened it.
In front of her stood Nichs, smiling broadly, looking handsome in his ck suit. “Wow! You look perfect!” Nichs eximed, not bothering to hide his admiration.
“Thanks,” Reba replied with a small smile.
“Shall we?” Nichs moved his hand like a prince inviting a princess to dance.
“Yeah,” Reba didn’t refuse as Nichs pushed her wheelchair down the quiet apartment hallway. Though it was a bit tricky moving from the wheelchair to the car, they finally made it to the restaurant.
“Sorry for the trouble,” Reba said after Nichs finished helping her out and seating her back in the wheelchair. Nichs smiled. “Don’t be sorry! Let’s get in, I’m starving!” he eximed, gently pushing Reba’s wheelchair toward the restaurant area where they were greeted by two hosts in all–ck and white uniforms.
As Nichs helped Reba move from the wheelchair to the restaurant chair, a few people turned and looked at them, making Reba’s face turn slightly red with embarrassment.
“I must look ridiculous now,” she murmured, looking down at the cemat on the table.
Nichs red. “Are you kidding? You look amazing! Listen, stop thinking badly about yourself, okay? Let’s order a nice set menu and go home happy!” he said, reaching out to stroke Reba’s hand on the table.
“Okay,” Reba replied. She took a deep breath and felt better after that.
While they were enjoying their appetizers, Reba suddenly heard a ‘click‘ of a camera from a fairly close distance, startling her. She turned towards the sound and saw
someone aiming a phone at her.
“What are you doing?!” Reba shouted louder than she intended to.
“Becky? What’s going on?” Nichs asked, surprised.
Reba pointed to where the woman had suddenly disappeared from her seat. “Someone took our picture! She was right there!” she eximed, irritated.
“Becky, there’s no one there, okay?” Nichs replied patiently.

Reba took a deep breath. She was sure the woman deliberately took their picture, but for what? She wasn’t even that famous.
The dinner celebrating Reba’s eight hundred thousand followers went pleasantly. Reba tried to forget about the woman who photographed her and returned to her apartment feeling better. But on the way back, she was suddenly shocked by a direct message from one of her followers who sent a link to a gossip news article.
‘Billionaire Harvey Specter’s ex–wife, Reba Harper, was spotted in an intimate dinner with her new boyfriend, who happens to be her high school sweetheart, just hours after the court granted her divorce. Something fishy is stirring public questions, has Reba been cheating since she was still Harvey Specter’s wife? Click the link on the bio to know the details.’”
Reba’s body was instantly covered in cold sweat.
