Prologue

A snowflake fell on my fingertip, melting. I flicked the water droplet anythinge fact that i baroff.

I could just image myself sitting here, my black hair frosty, and my jacket crisp, with my face holding an expresionless look, despite how young Ilooked.

I was very aware of the fact that I barely felt anything. I was also aware ofit, of the impact it had on the peoples impression on me.

    I just didn''t care.

I thought too much. Fell intocycles too much. Keep falling into the same pits I have been facing for years. I know this as I fall into them.

Why then, doesn''t it stop? If i know about the problem, I should be able to end it, right?

But reality has other plans for me.

Three years after he started, I had came here. For that moment, I was free. For the next week, I had no problems. Ever since then, I''ve been coming here regularly.

I''m shivering. Bad. It doesn''t matter. I can endure.

A person sits next to me. A woman. She looks thoughtful. Usually, I ignore people who sit next to me, and I shoot down any attempts at conversation.

I didn''t now. This woman had a look about her, that made me feel curious. But I didn''t try to start up a conversation. Old habits.

People are usually happy, or at least the ones that come here, I should know, after sitting here for all those years.

There''s something familiar about this woman. But I don''t think I''ve seen her before.

    "Yourself." The woman says.

    I''m startled, and confused too.

Yourself? What does that mean? The woman gives me an amused, but not-so-amused look. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

    Then it hit me.

    I blink.

"Have you been stalking me?" I ask.

She shakes her head. I have a feeling she expected me to say that.

Interesting. I hadn''t come across many people I couldn''t read.

"I saw you here, yesterday. My intuition kicked in somehow. I asked around. Turns out you have quite the reputation, around here."

    "I know." I reply dryly.

I was aware that people had picked up on my strange behavior. It was not a hard conculsion to make. Nor was the conclusion that there were rumors about me.

Apparantly, there were some people who thought, that I had found true love, and that it had slippped from my grasp, leaving me forever heart broken and cold.

    I found them amusing.

"Wow. I suddenly don''t think Ice Prince is an exagerrated nick name anymore."

    I groan.

Even though, I don''t really care about my reputaation, it does make social interactions tiring.

    The woman sported a grin.

    "What? It''s irritating." I say.

The woman gave me an all-too-knowledgable smile.

"Other people would have found it embarassing."

Now I know that she no ordinary person. It wasn''t what she said, so much as the way she said it.

    Yourself.

At first i thought she was stalking me enough to know my usua habits, expresions. But now that''s out the door. But there is an other option. I disregarded it as soon as it came to mind. Because it was simply too unlikely, and because i was hoping for it. There was too much of a chance i was trying to convince myself of thingsthat weren''t true.

The you''ve reached a other reason was that she was like me .

    "I''m no tother people " I say

I could have played it out in a million different ways , but for hwat cause ? So I simply spoke on instinct.

"Yes. I think you''ve reached a conclusion, now." She says. Her tone expressionless.

    I shudder.

That sounded too much like me.The fact that she might be a stalker popped up in my mind. But I disregarded it, for a lack of cause.

    I nod.

    She smiles.

We sat there like that for a moment.

I noticed her eyes were pale blue. Not very common, that.

"I like action movies. They awaken my sense of adventure."She says.

I was aware of where she was taking this. I played along.

"I like mystery. Action ain''t all that bad, but I guess mystery is something I''m attracted to."

    She smiles.

"Cool. I like mystery too. Just not in the same way. Anyway, it''s getting late, and I have to leave, so meet me heretomorrow, same time?"

    I smile.

"Sure. It was nice meeting you."

She nods, and then gets up and walks away. My eyes never leave her, not for a second.

She takes a turn and disappears from my sight.

I take a look at the note in my hand.
