Prologue


    Pain…


    Cutting my body


    Agony…


    Coursing through me


    Misery…


    Down to my very core


    ...Make...it...stop…


    And it does...with the sweet release of death


    Or so I thought…


    One doesn’t normally wake up in a huge tank of mysterious liquid… Then again, I don’t have anything to compare it to, so this could very well be so. I don’t seem to remember anything, aside from the searing pain...let’s not think of that.

    I open my eyes very slowly, as if for the first time. As they peel open, I’m met with the sight of darkness...Am I blind? It’s either that or there are no lights on. Let’s hope for the latter, as being blind would be quite troublesome. While I’m lost in thought, I almost don’t notice the pair of rather creepy looking, glowing red eyes staring at me. (Cross blind off that list)


    The eyes stare at me, unwavering, and still. It remains so for what feels like an hour, it may well have been. All of a sudden, the eyes get larger...No, they’re getting closer. They bob and sway to the movement of whatever creature owns them. They stop directly in front of me and stare at me some more.


    Then something rather confusing happens, it’s body starts to glow. Lightning like ripples of purple like move across its entire body. It’s bulging, malformed muscles swell as it breathes. Its hand has three sharp fingers...those look like deformed talons. A similar sight on its feet. I look back up to its face. Its jaw is split into three parts, it’s tongue hanging out of the bottom.


    The creature seems to scream, as I stare, and I can’t seem to hear it. It’s bodily glow increases. It’s muscles bulge even more and seem to boil. Its eyes are darting around in an angry panic. It starts to thrash at its own body, cutting at itself hoping to stop whatever agony it is in. It looks up at me once more, and I feel such pity for the creature, as it holds its malformed hand up to the glass, and it explodes into a mess of glowing red blood. The impact breaks the glass of the tank I’m in, and the force of it knocks me unconscious...again.
