Chapter 918

    Chapter 918

Isaac was never stingy with sweet nothings, especiallytely-it was as if his lips were perpetually

    dipped in honey.

“Why didn’t you pick anything out, Bri?”

The wee party was just around the corner and she needed to find some fancy dresses.

That reminded Brittany. “How about you help me choose?”

Isaac agreed with a smile and rose from his seat. “Alright.”

    Brittany followed him.

Isaac had an excellent eye for fashion; he knew Brittany inside and out. To him, picking out dresses for

    her was child’s y.

He selected an elegant light green cocktail dress and handed it to Brittany. “You wore something simr

on the day we got our marriage license. Give it a try?”

Brittany had a soft spot for that style and took the dress. “I’ll head to the dressing room then. You keep

    looking.”

    “Sure thing.”

Isaac picked a few more dresses of various styles, almost all from high-end designers. He handed

them to an attendant. “Please, take these in.”

    “Of course.”

As the attendant took the dresses into the dressing room, Isaac returned to the lounge.

Ophelia had already tried on all her outfits and was startled to see a strange man enter.

    “Who are you?”

This was her private lounge, not just anyone could walk in.

“Ophelia, I’m Isaac Salter.” He introduced himself.

Ophelia immediately recognized his identity. “Mr. Salter, where’s Bri?”

    “In the dressing room.”

Ophelia dropped her guard. They both took a seat.

Isaac poured a cup of coffee for himself and another for Ophelia. “Bri told me you’ve been looking out

for her these past few years. Thanks for that.”

Ophelia wasn’t fond of Isaac. After all, he was the reason behind Brittany’s toughest times.

“The thing between Bri and me doesn’t need your thanks, Mr. Salter.”

Isaac sensed Ophelia’s hostility. “It seems you don’t like me much.”

“Bri suffered a lot these past few years, all thanks to you,” Ophelia defended Brittany. “Bri might be

willing to let bygones be bygones and start over with you, but I can’t.”

Isaac wasn’t used to being lectured, and a flicker of irritation crossed his eyes. “Ophelia, I appreciate

how much you’ve cared for Bri.”

However, if Ophelia continued with her snide remarks, he wasn’t going to just take it lying down.

The tension between them became palpable, and the attendant remained as silent as a ghost.

Luckily, Brittany emerged. She was dressed in a green cocktail dress with exquisite fabric and

embroidered flowers, radiating a noble charm.

As Isaac stood up, his eyes lit with awe.

Though his gaze appeared perfectly normal, it sent a shiver down Brittany’s spine, and a blush crept up

    her neck.

    “It fits perfectly.”

The dress was a testament to her figure. Brittany was slender, yet her curves were in all the right

ces. With a waist-to-hip ratio that defied gravity and a skirt that fluttered with each step, her legs

    yed a game of now-you-see-them, now-you-don’t.

Ophelia caught the scent of romance in the air, rolled her eyes, and quietly left. She did not sign up to

be a third wheel, especially after just breaking off an engagement!

Brittany noticed Ophelia’s departure and intended to follow, but Isaac stopped her with a grip on her

waist. His body leaned in, his strong heartbeat, felt through the thin fabric, resonated with hers. “Where

    do you think you’re going?”

    “Ophelia…”

“Ophelia’s smart enough to give us some space.”

He didn’t mention the unpleasant exchange from before.

Brittany felt the warmth in his eyes and instinctively pushed against his chest. “Don’t start anything,

    we’re in public…”

There were security cameras in the store.

Isaac’s handy lightly on her waist, easily held with just one grip. He leaned down and lifted Brittany

into his arms. “The other dresses, you’ll try them on one by one for me!”

    Brittany’s face flushed red. “Isaac!”

“Don’t worry, there are no cameras in the fitting rooms.”
