    “Kari, I admit I rushed things before,” Ronald said, his voice hoarse with emotion. “I was afraid you’d


    marry Nathan. Now that you and Nathan have split, I won’t pressure you to ept me. All I’m asking

    Kari let a rare hint of sorrow show through.

    Kari shook her head. “A break would just give me time to brood. I’d rather focus on work.. And you and


    Mr. Salter, have you set a date?”


    Kari turned the question back on Brittany.


    They had decided to get married, after all. It was time to set a date.


    Brittany’s face brightened at the mention. “We’re still picking the day. We’re thinking of having the


    wedding eitherter this year or early next.”
