Nathan’s face turned ashen, “Do you really hate me that much?”

of her hands stood out. “Nathan,” her voice emerged hoarse. “My mom raised me all by herself. She

“I’m really sorry about your dad,” Nathan apologized instinctively, “but I truly love you, and I don’t want
to call off the wedding.” He didn’t want to break up with Kari.
Kari looked him straight in the eye for a long moment, “Nathan, if you really want to apologize, then
make your father price he owes.”

“Mom, even if I don’t marry Kari, I’m not going back to H city.”
Nathan didn’t want to hear anymore, “It’ste. You should rest.”
Mr. Salter granted him a few days off, and now they’ve all been used up.

“How should I know?” M looked ufortable, “Your father might have…”
“Why did they have to move to another city, then?” Nathan pressed for answers.

He was right. Samuel had indeed given the Malones a sum of money, but she had intercepted it.
