    Upon seeing William, Brittany quickly sat up and tugged at her hospital gown to make it look

    walked into the room and set his gifts on the table. A hint of annoyance was evident in his voice as he


    continued, “If anyone should be questioned, it’s you, Isaac. You and Brittany are divorced. What are


    you doing here?”


    “We’ve made amends.” Isaac replied, ignoring the pain in his body from his fall. He sat down on the


    bed and boldly took Brittany’s hand. “So, it’s only natural that I’m here.”


    William was taken aback for a moment. He had anticipated that this day woulde, just not so soon.


    “Please leave.” Brittany’s face turned an even deeper shade of red.


    Isaac, not wanting to upset Brittany, nodded. “Alright, I’ll take care of the paperwork to transfer here.”


    He said before leaning in to give Brittany a quick kiss, making sure William saw it. It was a clear


    message that they were back together.


    William remained silent, and after Isaac left, Brittany poured him a ss of water.


    “So, you two are really back together?” William asked as he took the ss but didn’t drink from it.


    “Yes. Brittany replied after a moment of silence. She leaned back against the hospital bed. “We are.”


    Brittany did hold a grudge against Isaac for deceiving her, but she couldn’t deny the moment of


    softness she felt when she saw him lying on the hospital bed. She was tired of holding on to the past.


    “Ever since we broke up, I knew you two would reconcile.” William admitted.
