Yuri was taken aback when he saw Brittanying down the stairs.
"Weren''t you supposed to crash at a friend''s cest night?"
He had gotten up early, but there was no sign of Brittanying home.
A blush crept onto Brittany''s cheeks. "I got inte."
Yuri, who had seen it all before, could tell she was hiding something. "Bri, were you out on a date with Wird?"
"No," Brittany shook her head. "Dad, Wird and I don''t really click."
She had already had that talk with Wird.
Yuri frowned in concern. "Then who was it? Someone I know?"
"Dad, really, it''s nothing." Brittany sat down, reaching for a bowl of oatmeal. In that moment, as she lowered her head, the ne around her neck sparkled brilliantly. "Is that a new ne?"
Yuri had spotted a clue.
Brittany, not wanting to unt her ring around town, had threaded it onto a ne instead.
She instinctively covered the ring, her cheeks flushing. "Dad, please, I''ll tell you when the time is right."
Yuri sighed deeply. "Alright, alright. My little girl has her secrets now."
Daniel came downstairs, his world crashing down around him!
Mom''s got a boyfriend!
Dad''s been ditched!
Daniel scurried over to Brittany. "Mom, do you have a boyfriend? Do you still love me?"

Brittany couldn''t help butugh, pinching his cheek. "Of course, I love you the most."
Daniel sighed, resigned to the fact that mom didn''t love dad anymore.
After breakfast, Daniel, backpack slung over his shoulder, trudged off to the car, his spirits low.
The driver noticed his glum expression.
"Young master, what''s wrong? Are you feeling alright?"
The usual energetic young master was nowhere to be seen today. Was it ack of sleep, or was he feeling under the weather?
"Uncle, if mom gets a new boyfriend, does that mean she won''t love me anymore?"
The driver immediately understood Daniel''s fears, reassuring him with genuine concern.
"Young master, you''re an exceptional boy, and your mom truly loves you. Whether she starts a new family or spends her life with you, her love for you will never wane." Daniel mumbled, still concerned: "What about dad?"
The driver, aware of Isaac''s situation, picked up on the unasked question.
"Your mom and Mr. Salter were once deeply in love. If Mr. Salter were still here, they''d be the world''s best parents and a harmonious couple."
The driver felt even more sympathy for Daniel. "Mr. Salter''s gone, but your mom''s life must go on. She deserves to start anew."
"Young master, you''re growing up. It''s time to ept that not everything in life goes as nned."
Understanding Daniel''s unease while also recognizing Brittany''s right to move on, the driver urged, "We should head to school now." Daniel remained silent.
But dad hasn''t gone anywhere, he thought.
At school, Daniel, his backpack on and sipping honey water, called Isaac.
"Dad, mom''s got a boyfriend. Your wife''s gone!"
...
Isaac had dropped Brittany off at the Lte Mansion early in the morning.
He then made his way to the hospital, where he and the doctor were on familiar terms.
"Caspian, you really need to give your stomach a rest. No more drinking."
Isaac ignored the advice, asking instead for painkillers.
There were more pressing matters at hand.
The doctor, unable to persuade him otherwise, reminded him toe back for a follow-up.
After taking the painkillers, Isaac plunged into his work.
Nathan watched him, worried by his friend''s declining health.
